Hurricane Package Cancellation - Refund Questions

My family had to cancel a package due to Irma on September 6. I was told to expect a full refund within two billing cycles from my financial institution. I did not receive a cancellation in writing. I called Disney today to inquire and was told that they could see that I cancelled and that I still would receive nothing in writing regarding the cancellation. They said that the proof was that the package disappeared from My Disney Experience. I called my credit card company and they said nothing has been refunded to my card at this time. Disney makes it sound as if it's up to my credit card company as to when they post the refund. I'm sure it will eventually come (fingers crossed), but I'm not comfortable with nothing in writing and a two month window for a refund is excessive. I received the refund for party tickets and memory maker (purchased separately) immediately. So what's the difference? Does anyone have any insight into this process?

Once Disney has processed the refund on their end, it is up to the financial institution. And depending on things on their end, it can take a couple billing cycles for it to show. That is not on Disney. That is on the bank or card company.

If you only canceled it Sept 6th, I would wait at least two more weeks to see it come back before you start to worry

I deal with a lot of refunds with our travel (Universal, offsite, other destinations), and Disney is the most reliable. They have never missed one and they usually come back on the card relatively quickly compared to other hotel companies.

Thank you so much! This is our first experience cancelling and that put my mind at ease.

Two billing cycles isn't the same as two months. Example: If you cancelled on th sixth and your billing cycle ends on the sixth, no refund will show on your 8/7-9/6 statement. Instead, it will appear on your 9/7-1/6 statement. Hence, two billing cycles.
