We're on the Monday Wish sailing. Given the state of things, I'm surprised they're not offering to let people rebook with no fees. A lot of people were planning to fly in Thursday-Saturday and might not be able to now depending on the state of the airport and roads. Will they even be able to refuel and resupply the ship, or should they if those resources are needed elsewhere? We have travel insurance and I just booked a backup flight for Sunday using points but I'm not sure if we'll even be able to get there.Scott Sanders just posted on X that Friday's Wish sailing is cancelled. All refunds to original form of payment and a 20% off future cruise discount
I sent him that information as we were supposed to be sailing on that one.Scott Sanders just posted on X that Friday's Wish sailing is cancelled. All refunds to original form of payment and a 20% off future cruise discount
Sorry to hear that. Not just an anonymous source. Someone we see here and join with in their excitement of our shared interest.I sent him that information as we were supposed to be sailing on that one.
To clarify, MCO is not closing. It's ceasing all commercial passenger operations (meaning, no passenger flights in/out). But the airport itself is still open, and there will be a 'ride out' team staffing it. MCO will remain open for emergency/aid and relief flights. (They have clarified MCO is not a shelter so people can't just wait it out there, but the airport itself will be open).MCO is closing at 8 am tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct 9.
No ships were due in/out tomorrow at Port Canaveral.
Sorry to hear. Hope that you will be able to sail soon.I sent him that information as we were supposed to be sailing on that one.
Milton should be close to Bermuda by then, so I don't think it should be an issue. Seas may be rough though. If the return of the Wish is delayed, one of the ships will need to use a different terminal. We are supposed to sail on the Fantasy Saturday, what does everyone think??!?
As they have cancelled the Friday sailing of the Wish, she could come back Sunday instead so they don’t have to worry about using a different terminal.Milton should be close to Bermuda by then, so I don't think it should be an issue. That's what they did with Ian two years ago (I was on the Fantasy at the time, and honestly a little bummed that the Wish sailing got two extra days but we returned on time, lol).As they have cancelled the Friday sailing of the Wish, she could come back Sunday instead so they don’t have to worry about using a different terminal.
Depends on how bad the damage is at Port Canaveral. I don't think the Port will open Friday (at least not early Friday), based on what the Wish is doing. They'll need time to assess the damage and check the canal, which could take some time (and then any repairs if there is damage). We are supposed to sail on the Fantasy Saturday, what does everyone think??!?
I was on the September 27th Wish cruise where we boarded 5 hours late because of Helene and I was bummed as I was hoping for 20% off a future cruise if they cancelled. That's what they did with Ian two years ago (I was on the Fantasy at the time, and honestly a little bummed that the Wish sailing got two extra days but we returned on time, lol).
