Yikes it looks to hit Florida now. We are scheduled to fly down Sat Afternoon. Is anyone changing their plans?

Barbara

I think it is still to far out to say with any accuracy. This one has been bouncing all over the place. Who knows where it is going to end up.

We're scheduled to drive down Sat. I think it's still too early to tell too. The local weather forecaster didn't even want to show the forecast map because he thought it was too early to start predicting landfall. Hope he's right!

I am scheduled To fly down Sat too, I hope it goes away!!!!

According to WFTV channel 9 out of Orlando (I'm in FL about an hour and a half away from WDW) as of now -- they think it may hit land on Sunday around Noon near Brevard county and go up the coast. It will be at catagory 2 changing to a catagory 1 after hitting land so Orlando will be affected:( That being said though, this could defenetly all change. So please send us all some pixie dust. We personnally are probably going to still go just because WDW will at least regain power quickly after loosing it and we've been looking so forward to this vacation. But for anyone flying in on Saturday - your flight will probably be fine but be prepared for Sunday to be Stormy. The good news is it's usually really nice right after the storms are over with. If anyone wants to follow what the local news here in Orlando is saying channel 9's website is www.WFTV.com)
;)

My sister lives in Lake Mary so I've told her that we'll just hunker down with them if things get bad. She jokingly said that they'd be coming to stay with us since Disney has not lost power :) and they have.

I'm worried too  This is SO NOT FAIR, it's my first trip to Disney EVER. I just know it will ruin my whole week, I fly out tomorrow night and stay til next Sat. but it looks like it's going to be rain, rain, rain all week. Dang it. THINK WINDY, BLOW IT BACK TO SEA!!!;)

We leave on Friday as well. I'm being optimistic here maybe, but it they don't know as of yet where or how severe it will be. Thanks for the local news website link!

We were supposed to fly in Sunday afternoon, changed it to Friday night with no penalty or fees......I'd rather get there before she does! I'd probably rather reschedule, but DH asked his employer about changing dates, even by a few days and .
they said no way, not until at least this time next year that he can use so many vacation days is a row (6???). We're going.

At the Poly now - just changed flights to get out tomorrow night before Jeanne gets here - looks like a lot of folks here are doing the same. I must say though we arrived on the 10th and have had the best weather ever.

For those of you interested here is the lastest (11a.m) track. Updated every 3 hrs.

We leave next friday so we'll be keeping an eye out for whats going on with these hurricanes. If any of you are interested you can visit www.flhurricane.com that site updates with the lastest information and tracks every three hours.

Were scheduled to fly down on Friday afternoon. I'm not concerned with my flights, but I am worried about the parks closing. We are only there for 4 days, so I'm hoping this storm doesn't close the parks. I don't know how bad it has to be before they close them.

But if they remain open, I'll be there with my poncho.

If i were you I woud cancel and reschedule if they do so without penelties casue last time for FRANCES they closed the parks early friday and were closed all day sat and sunday and opened a little late on monday.. prob if it does come here and they order evac of brevard county then they wiill close early sat and all day sun maybe even monday if it is sloww like frances my guess is closed sunday if it hits near us and maybe even monday..
the problem is the staff if they start closing local things the staff has to be able to prepare and go home etc.. also...

We're leaving on Monday but we'll be closely watching Jeanne to see what happens over the weekend. Hopefully she'll turn around and stay far from Florida.

Bunnyfoo, we leave for the Poly monday...we''ll wave as our planes pass!!! :wave2:

:wave2: And if I don't see you in the air ... maybe we'll run into each other at MCO :)

How long are you staying at the Poly? We're going to AKL first and then we'll be at the Poly from Oct 3-8.

Awww, shoot! We were originally booked at AKL, but stayed there already so decided to go back to the Poly after many yrs away..

We leave on Oct 2!

Are you taking Mears or a town car to the resort? Which airline? We're on AA...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DISNEY style!!!

P.S. wow, what a great loooong vacation!:wave2: ::MinnieMo

Thanks for the birthday wishes :) I'm really looking forward to spending some time in Florida and WDW! Especially since we haven't had much of a summer in Toronto.

We're flying in on Air Canada and getting a towncar ... I haven't read too many good things about Mears but then again I haven't tried them before. How about you?
