Just in our news: Mandatory evacuation
We should start feeling effects of Jeanne somewhere around 9PM on Saturday and winds will be from 40 to 108 miles per hour for about 29 hrs.

Sunrise sunday will be when it touches landfall and eyewall will be put around Brevard County.Just in our news: Mandatory evacuation for Brevard County which covers Cape Canaveral, Merritt Islands.

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but where exactly are those counties? Are they in/near Orlando ?

Our flight leaves tomorrow morning, arriving at MCO at 11;30.
We are still planning on going as of right now.

We just post-poned our arrival until Wed to be safe we could get in by air. No AA change fee and Disney cancelled the first 2 days, no fee.

Now it's 3 days of fun with the Mouse instead of 5...but we are still going!

will arrive tomorrow around 6:00 PM

I am so nervous!!
I want to cancel but the boys are SOOO excited, guess we'll get there and see how it goes.

We're flying out of Toronto in a couple of hours. Have packed an extra bag just of water and food so we have something to munch on in case we get "locked down"! We are staying at HIFS for Fri and Sat night and I phoned CRO to try to get into BCV on Sat night so we didn't have to transfer over on Sunday when storm is supposed to hit, but he said that every room is booked in all WDW property on Sat night! Apparently a cruise that was supposed to leave on Sat is not leaving now until Monday so they had to put everyone up! Hoping she takes a turn for the east and misses!

We also changed from Sun am to Sat am-rough finding a hotel though-all of WDW is booked and Sheraton Vistana Resort as well! Finally found a room at Celebration-I hope we are doing the right thing! Good Luck to everyone!

They are east of Orlando. Orlando is Orange county. The next county to the east is Brevard.

Oh boy, I'm due to fly in at 4:23pm. My crappy flight orginates from Hartford , goes to West Palm Beach to Orlando. This may turn out to be the flight from hell.

Well Cassie, you're where I want to be, and I'm where you want to be. CBR to be exact. I postponed a week to miss Ivan, which missed anyway, and came this week because Jeanne was lost in the Atlantic. We will probably both have some stories to tell in a few days. I'm scheduled to return Monday. We'll see...................

Hmm, if West Palm Beach is closing, can I hope my flight may go direct to Orlando? Or am I stuck in Hartford? I just called CBR direct and wanted to let them know I'm coming down and confirmed that fact so they don't let my ressie go to someone evacuating. They said I'm confirmed, call if I can't make it.

you never know just becuae it is closed does not mean they won't drop off and getthe plane where it needs to go.. had thathappen once in a huge snow storm said airport was cloded butthat the plane was landing to drop off and continue on if it could take off I said so if i make it to the airprt can i get on they said sure if i make it so.. prob you may still have a chance
I would not worry about them giving your room aaway No one who does not have ressies will be going to Disney since it is shut down for all reservations for this weekend that way they insure everone who is in transit has a room, everyone who is stuck has a room etc....
I stressed about my room as I was only planning on being there Sat and checking out Sunday and then found out it was gonna be in the middle of a hurricane so tried to extend they said they could not but not to worry taht after a certain time anyone on disney who had ressie would be taken care of They insisted it was no biggie thatthey would not kick me out at noon in the middle of a hurricane so I m just gonna breathe Relax and try to have a good time there tomorrow. Hope you make it....

Melbourne will close at noon; Orlando at 5PM; no information yet on Ft. Lauderdale and Sanford International.

Cape Canaveral will close at noon.
