Share the experiences you had during the storm.

I'lll post mine in a little bit, cause it's really long and I don't feel like typing it all right now.

We had a tornado warning here around 10:30 PM and I was pretty much freaking out, lol. Although we didn't get a tornado. There was a lot of wind and hard rain. It's still pretty windy here right now.

Wind and heavy rain. My neighbors pool got flooded and their tree knocked down.

Nothing happened to me but it's still a little windy here.

Not much! We didn't lose power or anything...watch me just jinx it haha! It just rained and some wind. My whole family and I slept in the livingroom with the T.V on just to make sure we weren't out of the loop.:goodvibes

Nothin much although I have 4 massive trees in my yard that have been swaying redicilously :scared:

It started around like 9:30 last night, and it was really rainy and windy. About an hour or so later, we thought we heard something fall. We looked out the window, and a big branch from a tree in the backyard fell on our patio. It was a really weak branch so it wasn't enough to do any dammage. Then at like 11 our power went out so we had to break out the flashlights. I tried going to sleep, but the wind was pretty strong at that point and there are a few trees by my room, so I went downstairs. Then, we looked out side the window and we saw some of our neighbors in front of my friend's house, which is two doors down and aa lot of car lights. My sister thought that something had fallen on my friend's house. So my Dad and Grandpa went out to investigate (the rain and wind had stopped at this point). About 15 minutes later they came back and said that down the street was all flooded about 4 feet. We weren't surprised that there was flooding because there is a creek behind te houses down there, but it's never really gotten any higher than a foot. I went back down with them to see all the excitement, and it was probably about 1:30-2:00 at tis point. One of my neighbors who lives down there had a panic attack and my next door neighbor, who is a nurse, had to take her into her house and calm her down! We basically just stood out there with everyone else, and watched people recover important stuff from the flooded houses. At this point, some of the flooding had gotten to the 2nd floor of the houses! My Dad had everyone in our family pack up just in case we had to leave. At around 3:30 the rain and wind started back up again, so everryone went back in their ouses, and my next door neighbor took in all the people who had nowhere to go (don't know where they all slept!). By then, the power was back on, and I fell asleep. When I woke up this morning, there was no other dammage, and all the water in the street was gone. My Dad and Grandpa who had both stayed up all night to make sure nothing happened, said it gotten up here, but only about an inch in the street , and it couldn't make it up our hilly driveway so it didn't get into the house or anyting. Last night was definetly scary, but it was exciting!

We were so worried about trees crushing the house, water flooding the basement, losing power, etc.

Turns out none of the above happened :goodvibes I got lucky this time

Well, the power went out in my town- not for me but for a lot of others.

But the hurricane killed 8 people- five of which lived in my state, North Carolina. So it really had a big effect on my state, we were hit the worst and came out with the most damage. I'm just glad it's gone.

Well I was so afraid at least one of the many trees outside our house was going to fall. Thank god it didn't. Our power didn't go out either, but our basement was flooded. We stayed up til 5am shop vacing the basement and bringing it back upstairs and dumping it outside. Outside my house just some large branches fell. We went on a drive this afternoon to see the damage. We saw 4 fallen trees which knocked out peoples power and a bunch of flooded streets. Someone I know on facebook took a video of her street and there was someone kayaking in it! So cool lol.

i live in ny and my power went out for 1 minute!!!!!!!!!

I work at Six Flags so the night before we prepared my ride for the storm by putting just about everything that could be blown away under the ride station, putting trash cans on their sides and wrapping phone boxes in plastic wrap and duct tape. Things we normally only do when we winterize after the last day of the season.

The day of the storm wasn't too bad, light rain and wind but the night of was pretty loud with the sound of the wind and branches and small trees falling nearby, as well as seeing the sky light up orange from transformers catching on fire and hearing the sound of fire engine sirens responding to them.

We lost power in the middle of the night and didn't get it back until 2 days later. Overall wasn't that bad but I could have done without losing power.

Please forgive my lateness on this thread, but I finally have a computer to replace to one that was "tortured" by Irene LOL. plus my old computer was almost 8 years old.

I live in south eastern part of va and my neighbor had a tree fall that belong to the apartment complex behind us and destroy his shed, but besides that, nothing like Isabel.

Unfortunately, we had a fatality of a 11 year old boy here in my city by a tree during the outer bands of Irene. at first he was "missing" and I knew he was just under all that mess and he was killed. so that was very upsetting because almost 8 years ago a tree hit my house with me in it and I am very lucky the same thing didn't happen to me.

we had power on and off through the whole thing, and we finally have had our debris started to be picked up as it was so much through out everywhere it has taken this long.

Well, I live in Texas, so we didn't even get a coll front from it!! We've had temperatures above a hundred for 2 months straight, now!! Ugh!! It's so annoying and hot! But, USUALLY the hurricanes will spring to the Gulf of Mexico and hit land here. We are about 15 minutes from the Gulf, so we have all sorts of disasters with that. In 2008, we had a HUGE hhurricane called Ike. Many people are still missing. There are even some people still living in tents because their houses basically uprooted and flew away. We didn't get TOO bad, although the neighbors trampoline flew threw the fence, and our roof had to be redone...

Not much.... I live in FL! lol :lmao:

But I was freakin scared! I HATE TORNADOES and my dear sweet uncle lives up there. I kept texting every five minutes :rotfl2:

Whenever a tornado warning or flood warning was issued, I lost it :scared1: and tried to three-way call my loved ones. ;)

I was glued to the TV :happytv: and in fact, I was at Disney! So it was gorgeus, just a little cloudy, and I am ignoring the Mouse and just checking up on everything. :littleangel: oh wat a lil angel i am :goodvibes

:sad2: I get worried over everything, but for good reason. A :eek:tornado:eek: tore through my Grandmama's neighborhood, keeping her house unharmed but wrecking the side street next door! :sad1:

Anyway, we are all good now. So :) my family is okay :grouphug:

Totally praisin' Jesus and Mama Nature right now :worship:

Had Tornado Warnings All Around And In My Area, It Was Really Scary, :earseek:
