The food is pretty standard fare - burgers and fries- with kids entrees served in a pail with a shovel for use at the sand-bottom pool. We're a couple of years removed from staying at the Beach Club, but Hurricane Hanna's was a good option during pool days, and even a time or two to take back up to the room. We never found the portions sufficient to share between my wife and me.
There's a handful of tables with umbrellas above them, plus some trees, so it's relatively shady there but without protection from rain. Since there's not a ton of seating, have someone hold down a table while others are in line. There are chairs at the bar, but that's separate from where the food service is.
I'd suspect there are other, better options on your side of the boardwalk, but if you're looking for something different after exhausting those options, HH could work in a pinch. If there's seating available, Beaches and Cream, while slightly more expensive, may be a more enjoyable option.
