I was there with my young wife. We were also told to fill our tubs with drinking water and we bought his many snacks as we could on the boardwalk. They told us to stay in our hotels close the drapes and hunker down! It got a little windy but coming from the Midwest I had seen much worse. Luckily the brunt of the storm never entered Florida. It was just a glancing blow. What I remember the most is that a day or two later when we went to check out of our hotel room they credited our whole stay! I was thinking that I wish we would have charged more souvenirs to the room-key cards because any & everything charged to it was also free! It was kind of surreal. We were waiting in the lobby in line to check out and they told us we could just go! LOL. Thank you Michael Eisner. I know he's not real popular but that was a wonderful thing that he did.
