Hurricane Dennis?????

We are leaving on Tuesday. Would you try to reschedule your trip or take your chances? I checked the Weather Channel for the 10 day forcast and it does not look promising but I am not sure if they are just charting the normal afternoon thunderstorm that comes through Orlando every day in the summer or if they are predicting something much worse. Any help would be appreciated.

Dennis should be in Tennessee by Tuesday morning. There are no guarantees with weather, but I wouldn't make your decision based on Dennis -- it'll be long-gone having gone no where close to WDW.

We are kind of in the same boat here. We are supposed to arrive on Tuesday (!!) and are kind of in limbo because we are in the path for the winds and rain, like during Ivan last September. I am not worried about being at Disney but about being able to get out of here in order to get there!!

I called WDW and they tell me they are willing to work with us if we should be delayed due to storm damage here at home, so I feel a little better this morning.


In fact, I will be glad to have a place to go if we again lose power and water!

Flying is another part of my concern. I travel no problem but my husband is not good on a plane and we are traveling with 3 small children for the first time. I am not sure what to expect from them and I was hoping for as smooth a flight as possible. We are coming from New York so we may hit some turbulance.

Anyway, good luck on your flight and lets pray for good weather for the rest of our trip and maybe light crowds in the park!

We leave tomorrow from Boston. I am a little worried about Dennis. I havn't gone to Disney in a couple of years and I don't the weather to ruin the trip. ...Anyone have any knowledge that will ease my worries?

I live in Tampa of course, and we have gotten very little at this point. They are saying it is just going to be stormy and a little windy. Orlando is just getting rain really. It will be fine. By Sunday Night, it will be completely normal. As for forecasts, yes, they will include rain everyday in Florida for the afternoon thunderstorms. To my knowledge, it will be a relatively normal weather pattern by Monday.

ok, don't worry about dennis...he'll be long gone by then.

that said. its going to rain. yes. it will rain. then it will rain some more. in the meantime it will be hot and muggy and then it will rain again.

That's Florida! During the rain, go into a shop, get a bite, relax. Your trip will be GREAT if you just remember not to worry about the weather.

We were sort of in the same boat last year. The day we were leaving home for Disney, Ivan came through our hometown. We left a day late and Disney was great to reschedule. Of course, I bought the trip insurance so I could have cancelled for any reason with a full refund.

The day we were to leave Disney coming home, Jeanne came over Disney. It was a little scary but we made it through. We were a day late getting out and Disney did a great job among the chaos. We had the trip insurance, and I actually made a little money on the deal.
