I know there was a post a few days ago from a lady who was to be on the 3 day Wonder that left yesterday. Does anyone know how the cruise is fairing? If any changes are going to have to be made to their itinerary? Has anything been annouced for Sunday's cruise?

I know what a pain it was last year and was curious if anyone knows what is going on at the point with DCL.

:confused3

I just heard from a friend that lives in Canada and she has a friend on a Western cruise and they were detoured to the Bahamas.

I am supposed to be leaving for Orlando tommorrow. Disney first then 4 day wonder on July 14th. Any dis floridians out there that have any info as to what it will be like in Orlando tommorrow. I dont even know if I will make it down there if the flights are cancelled. Any info will be greatly appreciated!!!!! :umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella: Looks like I will be needing this if I do make it there.

they don't think we will be hit too hard as of the latest reports. they aren't even moving the shuttle. leaving it out on the launch pad.hopefully the predictions willbe right. unfortunately the keys are pretty much right in the path.I was looking for a post from yesterdays cruise to see what was happening in the bahamas.

Pixie dust to everyone who has cruise plans. Sounds like this year is going to be bad for hurricanes. Wishing everyone well!

I am really curious as to see what is going on with the Wonder at this moment.

I just watched the news and if the hurricane continues on its current and predicted path, most of the tropical force winds will remain off shore. We ( I live an hour N of Orlando) should see some heavy rains beginning tomorrow with breezy and gusty winds into Sunday. We also could see tornadic activity. The hurricane should make landfall Sunday late afternoon or evening somewhere around Pensacola as a Cat 4. I am praying for those in its path.

My DH got a call (he works in insurance) that he is offically on stand by to leave at a moments notice. He was in Florida for almost 4 months last year.
I joked with him and told him he is not to stay more than 3 weeks and he told me he told his manager this. Managers reply was he would have to stay until he was allowed to come home or he would be turning his keys in for the company car. His company is expecting this to be a very bad storm to hit. It is no joking matter.

The storm is a Cat 4 and expected to hit Sunday evening to early Monday morning around the panhandle area. I does not sound good. And didn't I read yesterday on another post that there are two more brewing in the ocean. DH said that this will be the first time that a hurricane has hit Florida this early in the year. He said it was either never have happened before or it has been many years since it has happened. Sorry I can not remember which.

I do hope everyone will take this seriously and leave the area that the storm is to hit directly. I live in NC...anyone what to come stay with me????? LOL Not that this is a laughing matter.

very scary for floridians. My mother lives up in the panhandle and is staying put. she said most gas stations are already out of gas and the roads are congested. It is very early in the year indeed for such a powerful storm. I have lived here in south fla all my life and until last year never really worried and now after living thru what we went through last year and all the repairs- I cant bear going thru it again...

We live on the Texas coast and have to watch out for hurricanes here too.
My DH works for the electric company and they had a BIG meeting yesterday about Dennis. Vacations were cancelled and everyone is on standby. If the hurricane makes damage in Mississippi, Lousianna or Texas he goes to the area right after it hits and I see him when the work is done.
I hope everyone stays safe through this hurricane.

Dh came home today and said they are thinking this hurricane will be like Ivon. He came and left very quickly. DH was evalcuated from Fort Myers to Dallas when he came. He stay for Jeanne. Hopefully this hurricane will truly weaken when it hits Cuba. From what I have heard (DH) said they are thinking it might down grade to Cat 3 after hitting Cuba.

I also am saying prayers for everyone in it's path.

Not to sound crass but I am still curious to hear what if any changes have been made to the Wonder 3 day that is out at sea. For now I can not tell anything is changing for the Sunday. I can not see why it would since the hurricane is to hit at another place all together.

I just hope they are having a good time. I know the CL's can do all sorts of things to prevent going into a hurricane.

The Wonder is pretty far EAST of where Dennis is so I wouldn't worry about them. Weather.com predicts thundershowers for the weekend and scattered thunderstorms for next week.

Anyone going to the Wonder and/or WDW on Sunday might get damp but should be able to leave just fine.

I was wondering if the cruise would be affected also, but it looks like they should be clear of it for the most part. As far as Sunday, it should be quite a ways into the Gulf by then and not affecting anyone on a ship leaving from the East coast of FL.

We are on the Panhandle very near the water and evacuating around 2:00 or 3:00 tomorrow morning (traffic north prevents leaving earlier). We had quite a visit from Ivan, so we want Dennis to go away!! At least I recently purchased the Passporter for DCL and it's going with me, so I can dream and plan for our October Western, when there better not be any tropical activity!

"The seas are getting a little choppy right now. Winds are horrid. Chairs on deck are flying all over."

This is What I Heard From The Wonder Just a Bit Ago..
They are headed for Castaway Cay..

Updated.....Not sure that we will be docking in CC tomorrow. The winds are kicking up pretty bad. Really windy outside. Chairs are being blown all over the deck and they have extra CM's helping pick them up.

This is what I was afraid of. I was so afraid that one lady that posted prior to going Thursday would not have a nice calm sea. As for CC everyone knows it is hard for them to dock when the winds are up.

MelissaE1, I know Ivon hit the panhandle very badly. But from what Dh said the system moved quickly thru the area if it had not it could have been much worse. I remember looking at the damage from Ivon and thinking how could it have been any worse. I hope you guys stay safe. Will be thinking and praying for all of you guys out there in the path of the storm.

Dennis is off to the EAST of where Dennis is being a menace. And since the Magic is off on the west coast, we don't have anyone to worry about DCL-wise in the western Carribbean.

We will be watching those next two storms brewing though. We leave on Tuesday to fly to Florida for three weeks. We just snagged a great deal on a western carib RCCL cruise that leaves the following Sunday. But no worries here......we bought insurance, have a place to stay if the Mariner is delayed getting back into port, and have four days to spare on the other end of the cruise if WE should be caught at sea. I love sea days anyway!

So it will be a grand adventure for us......and hopefully we will not have to do any of the emergency plans since these storms will behave and stay far, far away. The QUEEN has spoken. :wizard:

We can't win! Last year, we booked a Celelbrity Cruise to the Western Crib. and Jeanne held us at bay in Lauderdale for three days. So our 7 day became 4 days. It wasn't that bad.....had GREAT company ( and thank goodness for cruise insurance!)for the wait in Lauderdale. This year figure we go a bit earlier and miss the wind and rain! Guess what?, we're cruising on the Wonder next Sunday! Hopefully there's a lull for the next two weeks, otherwise....it's gonna be a long wait out again.... :sad2:
