Hurricane day at WL

Hi Auburn Tigger........

I'm hoping for a few responses to your question as well.

We arrive on Sat. Sunday was supposed to be our Epcot day.I am now wonderfing if I should reschedule my ps's and make them at one of the WL restaurants instead so we can stay at the Lodge all day .

I wonder if even though the parks may close, if the resort restaurants stay open?:scratchin

Looks like we might have a Hurricane day at WL this weekend. Anyone know what to expect.

Well, I spent Frances at the Contemporary for 3 nights since I wasn't sure my place would hold up under her. When I woke up Sunday AM, we were in lock down; which means they asked us to stay in our rooms, but we were able to wander about the building (I was in the south wing). Meals were sold from a first floor room for $5 (I had brought 1/2 my kitchen with me so, that wasn't an issue). Room service and housekeeping were cancelled (again, no issue for me since I asked for extra towels and soap when I arrived Friday). Other than letting us know when our prison sentences were over, Disney did a great job of leaving voice mail messages. We were allowed out about 510pm. They also did a very poor job of letting people know transportation via the monorail for the MK was not running Mon AM (although it did start up later that morning). Over that 3 day period, I had no less than a dozen voice mails keeping me up to date. Chef Mickey's had no character meals (yippee!) Sat or Sun (the two days I ate there) and they did lower the cost. I would expect the same at the WL. :)

we were at wilderness lodge for frances and are hoping to be there again for jeane (right now they are completely booked ) But we ar ehoping some people wil cancel so we can go there My kids are comfortable there and since it will be tyhe 3rd time we have had to evac uate in 2 months I want them to be somewhere they feel safe .. we are booked for PORiverside but...
anyway Wilderness Lodge did exactly what the previous person stated they went on lock down and made you stay in your rooms They had "WARDENS" in the halls ordering you to close the door and stay inside all day sunday... the parks were closed SAT and SUND and opened late monday.. They did not tell you when they were gonna close the restraunts so be prepard but the did provide 1 meal at around 200 in the afternoon a box lunch for 5 dollars .
If you can reschedule I would advise you to do so this area is in such turmoil right now gas is already gone in our area milk bread hotdogs etc gone from our stores . I will be lucky if I make it to DW tomorrow with no gas to be found here.....
good luck
For the past month i feel like i have been living in a 3rd world country no electricity no water, no gas scurrying for bread etc at the stores and now it is gonna happen again.... I wish i could just leave....... go somewhere else for a week or 2 and take a breaK!!!!!
they did have the 2 restraunts at WL open but it was BUFFET only and very pricey like 14.99 for lunch and 22.00 for dinner you were stuck there for 2 whole days so you really had no choice but to pay those prices.. so be prepared....

That is what Disney said when I called. They are not discouraging us from coming. So we are on our way.
