Ugh! Just one of the things I hate about Florida: the potential for devastating weather. Looks like Bonnie will miss my portion of Florida, but this Charley is headed right for me. Of course, its' path could change a little north or south, and they don't really know if the winds will intensify more than a Cat 1, but it still looks bad to me. This is what I just read online about its' projected path. Anyone planning on a WDW vacation Friday can expect to see some hurricane force winds and rain.

"After striking or brushing the Keys, Charley was forecast to continue its northward path and hit the southwestern Florida mainland early Friday with sustained wind of about 85 mph, forecaster Daniel Brown said at the hurricane center.

Charley was likely to cross central Florida, still packing hurricane-force wind, and then exit near Daytona Beach on the Atlantic Coast. Three to 6 inches of rain is expected, with locally higher amounts possible", Brown said.

:(

we will most likely get the rain and winds since we will bear the storm on the right side if it stays on its path. gotta love hurricane season in fla.

Ugggg. We finally plan to take a trip to Vero Beach the first 2 days of our WDW trip and CHARLEY!!!!! We travel out tomorrow and we stay at Vero Beach Thurs night and Friday-Friday night.......I am disappointed!! I was excited to just relax on the beach DD was excited to swim in the ocean and use some of the recreation on the water....UGGGGGGGGG!! Oh well, we still have some time in Disney to look forward to . I just want to get there safe that is all that matters....we will rent some movies and hang out in the room and have some nice long needed family time....now just pray that the electric holds up!!!!! I wish all those traveling a safe journey and all those that live where CHARLEY and BONNIE are visiting good luck and be safe.

We are getting ready for Charlie. Went to sams today to stock up. Have been through this before we will be ok.

Its coming to the west coast, those in vero shouldnt even think twice unless is changes course. In Orland expect lots of rain but little wind.

I live in Palm Harbor, Florida. (West of Tampa Bay around Clearwater.) I just checked out the weather channel and it looks like Charlie will come a shore with some intense winds. Maybe a bit south around Fort Meyers/ Sarasota County, but we will feel it too here in Tampa! I need to start preping for impact. I work at Home Depot...can you say BUSY! I guess I need to get on the band wagon too. Batteries, flashlights, etc.

Hurricane= Overtime (So I can plan more Disney trips!)

Everyone here in Florida... BE SAFE, and Best of Luck with Bonnie and Charlie!

News update as of 5am on Thursday, I am afraid Charley is headed right toward you as a catagory 2 hurricane is expected to hit Clearwater Beach around 4 pm tomorrow.........I'm right here with you, hope they let me out of work early today so I can prepare, was already outside this morning taking the plants down and the lawn furniture, but one thing I don't need is more rain I already have a newly formed lake it my backyard from the rains of the past couple of weeks:mad: Now I just know those codes for the rooms will be released for my dates and I won't have phone service, computer or something related.....hopefully it won't happen but I do hope we all make it through with little damage................Pixie dust gods be good to us!

As of now it looks like it will just miss where I live............THANK GOD. I hate hurricane season but it comes with living in FL. Everyone else in Charley's path take care and be safe.

 my luck gets better and better every year.

Last year i decide lets do Blizzard Beach. we planned a week or two in advance and i get sick the day we go. i dunno what, but my equilibrium was shot. Riding in the car made me sick and i felt really icky the whole day, luckily we were staying overnight and i felt tons better the next day, but it rained off an on. Good thing we were in a water park :p

This year we plan ahead and decide to spend the whole weekend at Disney..and now there's a huricane!

It better hurry its way through! i wanted to play Fantasia MiniGolf!

At least Melbourne/Palm Bay is only an hour or so away, i wont have to drive too long in the rain :(
