we are thinking of doing the 3 night Sept 2 cruise, I don't mind the heat but was wondering what it is like to cruise during hurricain season, are the seas rough? is it any hotter than orlando? what are the chances the cruise could be rerouted or canceled due to weather?

There is no way to answer your questions with any accuracy. The seas should only be rough if there is a storm somewhere close enough to the ship to affect her. No one knows when or where a hurricane will crop up far enough in advance to plan a trip with any assurances that it won't be affected. The southern ports are indeed hotter than Orlando, because, well you're going furhter south.

We've cruised twice during huricane season, once we were impacted once we weren't. The best bets if you decide to book then are; 1. Purchase insurance, 2. Be flexible with your plans. 3. Keep a positive attitude and make the best out of whatever situtaion comes your way.

There is no time during the year when you can be promised perfec weather, perfect schedule and calm seas.

We sailed in May of last year. The first named tropical depression came before Hurricane Season ever started. The first night night was pretty rough, but the rest was smooth (although rainy.). You just never know.

Like all have said it is unpredictable. I have sailed several times in hurricane season and had no issue either time. I would have to say this last Sept. was extremely humid.
