Hunkering down in Texas - Edouard

Update at 1:38 am, weather outside still as calm as could be.

Wind barley blowing.

Hope you are all safe and stay that way

Hope thats as bad as it gets!!

ditto!!

in june, when i was at my mom's house in suburban detroit, we were hit by a tornado (the tornado siren went off 10 minutes AFTER the tornado hit us)...
but thankfully, we were ok - just major damage to the house....broke my mom's heart since she built it with my dad...but at least we weren't hurt...

:surfweb: Drake, get some sleep. It'll be fine. I just woke up to hear the wind. Not too bad. Off to make some coffee.

Well, everyone stay safe if your south of us.

But please come this way Edwardo or whatever your name is. We really need the rain bad up here. :worship:

5:22 am

Storm will not be classified as a Hurricane according to local new. Being told 70 mph winds max.

Rain and wind still coming down pretty good. Going to be a pretty nasty day but everything looks to be ok.

Power blinked off and on but still on as of now.

Going to take a little nap.

Off to work. Don't anticipate any flooding on the streets. Power is still on.

I hope all of you in the area are safe! I grew up in Brazoria county myself so I know how it goes. Actually, my mother was flying back to Texas yesterday from visiting with me up here in New York and we were worried she might have some flying issues but she made it back safe late last night. I think Edouardo is just about making landfall as I type this! Hopefully there won't be any damage done! :grouphug:

The storm was nowhere near what was predicted (or was it that everyone was maybe a little better prepared)

Still a good bit of much needed rain is coming down but all is well.

Thanks to all for the thoughts, prayers, and good wishes.

Signing off.

Drake

HI

I live in LC,LA. It wasn't bad over here. I hope you and your wife made it safe and sound.

Sammie

I must say, for a storm that was supposed to bring us much needed rain over the next few days, Edouard was quite the disappointment.

We were predicted to get a couple inches a day for the next few days. Instead, it rained for about 30 minutes. And it wasn't even that hard!

What a crock.

However, I'm glad to hear that everyone is ok.
