I am sure this has been asked a million times (sorry for the repeat) but I am trying to figure out if we can deal with the heat/humidity at the end of August (into labour day).

I have been to Mexico in September and am curioius if it is the same type of temps?

Living on the west coast of BC we do get some high temps in the summer (crossing my fingers for summer sometime soon LOL) and I have alot of customers who complain about how the humidity is bad here and how they enjoy the dryness of the interior etc I know our weather is nothing like Orlando but I would like to have an idea of what I am getting myself into

My other option is to go at the end of September, but then I need to pull the kids out of school, and it is busier at work...

thanks..

Yes it's humid.

We went last year after Labour Day. It was very warm and it rained some afternoons/evenings.

My neighbours' couldn't stand the heat. They decided to go in October this year. My niece and I are travelling with them.

It will be busy during the weekend of Labour Day, but then shouldn't be too busy.

We went a couple years ago in June, and it was humid. I'd take a shower, get out, get dressed, then feel like I needed another shower.

It doesn't cool off even when it gets dark. It can be only 90, and you're dripping. The AC in the rooms helped.

Anyway, I love the heat!:yay:

Yes it is humid but it is no worse that a hot humid day in the middle of July in Ottawa. You know that feeling like you just walked into a wall of heat on a hot day in the summer. It feels like that. Go to the parks first thing and then later in the day when the sun isn't so hot and you will be fine. There are all kinds of tips for beating the heat here on the boards. Washcloth in a ziplock to cool off back of neck when needed. Those misting fans. Drink lots of fluids and you will be fine. My husband says I wilt like a flower here in the summer and I enjoyed it. There are lots of airconditioned places to cool off if you need them.

September can be just as hot and humid as August. Only you would know how well you handle heat and humidity...Florida in the summer is way more humid than anywhere in Canada. That being said, I have been several times in Aug and it seemed to be better each time but we know what to expect now. We are either at the resort swimming or the waterparks and when we are in the parks (with the exception of AK...very hot!) we are in and out of a/c so much that it really isn't that bad. I learned after the first trip that hair and makeup are out the window and the bonus of Florida in the summer is it is so easy to pack because you need nothing with long sleeves or pants!

Same as in Toronto. The only difference is when it rains it is sometimes hotter afterwards instead of cooler!!!
It is like going to the Toronto zoo and going into the africa pavillion and then living in there......minus the smell!!!:lmao::lmao:

I found it extremely humid. We went for the free dining labour day last year and as soon as I got out of the airport I felt like my breathe got sucked out of me. My poor DH's glasses would fog up the minute we stepped out of the A/C. Never again, I'll stick to Spring break, busier, but I can enjoy myself alot more.

I am a west coaster too... best way to train is to spend hours on end in a hot steam room ;) ;)

OK BC hot and humid doesn't compare one iota -- sorry to scare you but it doesn't LOL

But you will survive, we do and seem to return year after year around the same time because it's pretty quiet LOL

Where are you guys staying and when are you going? We are there Apr 27-Sept 6 First few days are undecided, then SSR and ending at BLT

tht sums it up... !!!LOL

We went last August for the first time and are returning this August. Very hot, and yes, very humid. And I don't like extreme heat and often find it hard to breathe when the humidity gets too high.

We had a ball. Headed to the parks at 8 after a quick shower, no makeup or hairstyle and very light clothes (athletic wicking type). In and out of attractions with AC, got wet here and there (which was always welcome), drank lots of water, and had lunch at 11:30 or so to get out of the heat for a bit. A few more AC rides and back to the resort, either to the pool or the AC room. Naptime, and then head back at 5 for a bit.

We got a lot done, and had a ball. Two days were like being in h*ll with a water misting fan to keep me alive, but even though, we still had an amazing trip and are going back at exactly the same time this year for 2 weeks.

Definitely leave the pants and sweater home. :rotfl:

Do you mean Aug? If not, where do I sign up for that long at Disney?!:goodvibes

Thanks for all the replies

I called today and changed our bookings around a little, I am still looking into airfare so I wanted to make sure that I had enough days booked to fiddle with the dates, also added dh to the booking as he originally was going to stay home but the kids really wanted him to come...

I figure even thru the heat and humidity its Disney, we will have a great time anyways.... who knows maybe Ill sweat away some pounds.. LOL

Can't wait, we are hoping to be there August 29 - Sept 7 give or take a day or two on either end. We are booked for the pop

soooo excited as we have only been to disneyland before :banana:

We booked for Aug. 25-Sep. 1, staying at CSR.

Since you're now booking in August, perhaps you can take advantage of Alaska Air's $139 one way fares. There's a 1:30pm flight, which may work for you since you're coming off the ferry (I read your other post), and you won't need to stay overnight in Seattle.

Hi I went end of September last year. It was very humid, the strange thing was it did not cool off at night. Midnight at Hollywood studios and I was still using my misting fan. It wasn't hotter than a Canadian humid summer day it just didn't cool off. If you like the heat and love water activity its great. We spent a couple of nice days at the water parks. Not great weather to run around the parks a slow pace and relief from the heat at the air conditioned restaurants is nice. We are going first two weeks of December this year to attend the Christmas party... the Halloween Party was very good if its on when your there you should go.:goodvibes

We are going end of sept (sept 24-Oct 4) so I assume it will still be hot and humid! So I have a question, how do you manage your hair, mine friizzes like crazy:scared1:
