My little girl will be about 54" when we go to Orlando in April. She really loves roller coasters but I am afraid for her to ride Hulk. Have any of you taken your 8 or 9 year old on this ride?

I don't have kids but I can tell you the Hulk is pretty intense. She might want to watch it a few times and then both could decide whether to proceed or not. My niece who is 12 now wouldn't ride the Hulk last year but rode DD and ROTM without any problems.

Ugh...I've typed a big long response three times and my computer keeps freezing up! Ticked!

1...she will be tall enough, but is she "big" enough? We took my niece on a water ride that she was tall enough for, but she is soooo tiny, she nearly fell out of the tube. Different, I know, but just a thought. She needed to be 48" for the ride and she was. She's 7 and still wears size 5 clothes. She's a toothpick.

2...If yes to above...has she ever been on a smaller coaster? Ds is a coaster freak, but was not tall enough at 9. He finally hit the height requirements when he was just over 9 1/2. Prior to that he'd ridden smaller coasters like Scorpion at Busch Gardens Tampa. Heck, he wanted to ride Kraken when he was 5 1/2! Since hitting 56" he's ridden Hulk, DD, Alpengeist, Apollo's Chariot, and most recently Superman "Ride of Steel" at Darien Lake, NY. He is psyched to finally ride Kraken this Feb.

If she's tall enough and "big" enough...and brave enough, I say go for it! Personally, I think my Ds loves coasters because I love coasters and have never instilled fear of them. Heck, at Darien Lake, just 4 days ago, the kid wanted me to ride that "Slingshot" bungee thing with him. Sorry pal, I have to draw the line somewhere!

My son is 6 years old and 50" high and he can't wait for Hulk and DD. This summer he just rode ROTM and could not get him off. He has been going the US and IOA since he was born, as soon as he hits the next height level he gets on the ride with no fear. Like someone else mentioned, I also never instilled fear of them (the rides).

I did the Hulk when I was 11, but I was a short child. I wanted to do the Hulk when I was 9 though.

The Hulk isn't THAT intense, I find the scorpion at Busch Gardens (which has one loop) waaay more intense, the G's on that thing are amazing.

Hope you have a great time.

dd rode Tower of Terror at 5. Everest at AK over and over again last year. She did Rock'n roller coaster back to back last year too. She really likes roller coasters but I worry about her size. She is skinny. I am going to check out some pictures of the ride and decide. My husband seems to think she should be fine but I think she will have bruises because I will be holding on so tight.

Tall yes,brave is the question..

My DD has been riding coasters since she was tall enough(very brave-more then me:lmao: )

Let her watch it on you tube, then you can see the mind set.Its very intense like metro stated..
