Hulk - how extreme?

I don't know about the new Hulk, but the old Hulk made me feel really weird in my brain/head, and I had to sit for like thirty minutes after we got off of it! At some point, maybe on one of the loops...when the force presses you down, I felt a regurgitation sensation in my neck veins and I felt more than a little dizzy when I got off. I LOVE coasters, but I have avoided this coaster on visits ever since because it freaked me out! I am hesitant to try out the new and improved Hulk when we go in September...But I am also VERY tempted!

I always felt like I had a face lift on the hulk before it was redone

Will be riding it in October and read it is smoother now

Excited to try it again

Agreed- I don't know how the refurbished ride is, but the old one made me feel weird- it just tossed my head around too much and I would be dizzy for a while after.

I would say that, over all, the Hulk is more intense than RnRC - but that the launch of RnRC is MORE intense than the launch of Hulk.
I'd say that if you can ride one you should try the other, either way.
I love both and have not ridden the "new" Hulk yet. I plan to in about 19 days :-)

I would agree. RnRC punches you really hard right at the beginning, but then tappers off as you zip through the ride, the Hulk's punch (always catches me off-guard ... which I love) is longer / the speed is more sustained for the length of the ride.

As far as intensity goes - to put a twist on JP Morgan's quote, 'if you have to ask how much it costs' .... I would say, if you have to ask how intense the ride is, let's just say it's intense :duck::joker:.

Do give the Hulk a shot! It's by far my favourite (traditional) coaster ride at Universal.

Does anyone know how the new Hulk compares to Screamin in Disneyland? We are trying to talk my DD into Hulk before the trip and she was fine on Screamin last year in California.

I didn't get to ride it, but my girlfriend said this about the new Hulk. She is a COASTER ENTHUSIAST - loves riding them all, but she did not suggest the constant head banging and G forces of the new Hulk.

I love roller coasters and will ride pretty much anything but I agree it bangs your head depending on where you sit. I rode twice last week, first time row 5 and second time row 6 (I think). I was fine in row 5, felt secure and no head banging side to side. The second time I slid all around in the seat and banged my head back and forth often. I'm a big girl so I thought the modified seats would be better but i preferred the others by far. I refused to ride again. My wife did a third time and sat in row seven and said it was much better.

So it would seem some rows are still bumpy??

I always felt the front row was the only one my never got truly banged around........looking forward to trying it out though later this month.......

I'm looking forward to the improved hulk on my trip

Read it is smoother now
Will find out soon

My god daughter and boyfriend thought it was definitely smoother, but don't know what rows they sat on, other than I know they did the front row at least once.

Can't wait to try it out again.......

I'm looking for reports on how smooth it is. My biggest complaint from my last trip to Orlando was my head banging against the hard headrest, but I can't remember if that was Space Mountain or RnR at DHS. I'm not even sure if I've ever ridden Hulk. (The only IOA rides I'm sure I've been on are Doom, Spiderman, and Jurassic Park. It was a long time ago.)

RnR at Dhs is a headbanger
Hate that part of the ride

Hulk before the new set up was another headbanger

Read Hulk is a smoother ride now but won't find out until I am ther next month

I rode on Hulk a few times during a trip I just got back from. I can't compare anything to pre-refurbished Hulk as I didn't ride it before its reopening but every time I rode on it in the past week (in various rows) it was pretty jostling. I was actually surprised because many people on the boards said how smooth it was since it reopened. I actually smacked the side of my head/ear so badly once I had to take a break for a while.

Didn't stop me from going on again though lol

Sad to read the head banging is still happening

I always thought on this ride years back it was like getting a face lift on that ride as in the pictures that are taken on it made everyone have smooth pulled back faces
Lol

I too was surprised to have the ride hit my head as hard as it did after all the reports of it being smoother. I don't remember this happening at all when we rode in 2014 but I think we always rode in the front that trip and it did seem largely dependent on where we sat this trip.
I only had it happen during one ride the last trip a couple weeks ago but it was bad enough that I didn't want to risk it again. We also had to take a break as it made us disoriented and woozy , that has never happened after any ride before. We visit theme parks often and there are very few things we won't ride.
