I just saw live pictures from Baghdad and there were some cars on the road. Although, not many. But, if my town had just been attacked, I sure in the heck wouldn't be getting out.

I saw a major intersection of multi-lanes street and neither side stopped! Approaching traffic from all four roads didn't slow down; just went right through.

I know this is slightly off topic but I was wondering if they were not stopping because of the possibility of an attack or if they don't normally stop.

I agree with you all, I know I would be cowering in my house under my bed scared out of my mind.

You see this a lot in countries that have more violence than we have. They go about their normal day as normally as they can. And I truly think that the innocent citizens know that they are not a target.

You have to understand something...these people are used to this! To them this is one more round of violence.
Hopefully it will end soon and we will be succesful at taking this SOB and his followers out of power this time.

I'm sure it was either:

1.) Reporters / the media, trying to get to the big stories.
2.) People who were trying to get to family
3.) People who were trying to get somewhere to hide
4.) Medical personel / police/ and other vital personel trying to get where they had to go.

Just as we are going about our business, the Iraqi people had to go about their business until something happened.
