I'm not sure how many of you out there are big TRON fans, but I'm a huge one. I'm so excited about this release and they're thinking this is going to be a big if not bigger hit than Alice, which Disney needs to keep having big blockbusters.

This link shows some of the new toys. Makes me want to be a kid again. I might still have to get some of this stuff. Check out the lightcycle that drives around on a wall and the action figures with video faces and suits that light up. Yes, I'm a Gerd. :)

This link is from Blue Sky Disney. Now, I know that these are rumor sites, but his site is pretty well known and majority of the information he hears and gathers, is pretty reliable. Most stuff he posts, comes true. They're talking about a new e-ticket Tron ride at DL and to make it part of a new makeover for Tomorrowland, which DL needs desperately.

Crossing fingers.

They dont usually green light a new attraction till they see how the movie does at the box office....

There was talk of a Tiana breakfast here in Orlando, but the movie didn't do as well as they had hoped, so that is on the back burner....

But for now....EPCOT has the "Tronorail"....

I'm hoping because of how much hype that this movie is getting, that it officially gets green-lit. There's so much talk going on about this movie and it's toys, etc, and it's not even going to be released until the end of the year.

It's so sad about TPATF movie. It's really a wonderful movie and sad that it didn't become the big box office hit they thought it would, although world wide, it did make a lot of money and dvd sales have been big. DL is still doing a Tiana meet and greet and has a party/song and dance thing that happens in New Orleans Square.

But we'll see. I honestly think this movie is going to be huge. The trailers are amazing. We just need something big to jumpstart a TL renovation in the worst way.

DL NEEDS?!?

Hello!!!!
Big Park in Florida!!!!
No new crap in a dogs age!!!!
:guilty:

Sadly, the folks who frequent the Florida parks, for the most part, dont really need a new "Eticket" attraction to draw them.....Its a right of passage, pack up the kids and take them to Disney World.....regardless....

On the west coast, its more of a local park, and they need something new every year or two to keep the locals comming back...

Just my thoughts.....

I think the last update to TL at DL, was done in the early 90's. They made it all coppery and colorful and it looked horrible. It's gone back to the white/grey/steel look, but with the peoplemover track still there and empty, the peoplemover loader area empty, the top of the peoplemover which use to have the rockets empty, there's not much there anymore. HISTA is replaced with Captain EO until something is put back in there. HISTA won't be coming back thank GOD. Carousel of Progress left years ago and now has the House of Tomorrow, which....is lame as well. That leaves Buzz Lightyear, Autotopia, Space Mountain and Finding Nemo Subs. There's talk of turning people mover track into a light cycle themed TRON ride, so we'll see. It's all rumors. But y'alls TL in WDW is amazing compared to ours. lol

Thats true I think. People go to WDW as a vacation destination for weeks at a time. New attractions don't prompt people to go for the main part. At DL, 1 million people are local AP holders. It's why DL is busy all year long and usually every day. There's no such thing as downtime anymore. So they've been in talks a lot lately from what I've read to use parts of DL that are empty such as a lot of backstage areas for new multiple c, d and e-ticket attractions that will pull people into the park and also free up the conjestion. Those AP holders in CA need to see new things every couple of years.

NO WAY!
Your SM kicks *** compared to WDW one!

Ok, I will give you that. SM at DL is a lot better. We do have the Subs, but that's not very "futuristic". lol Our Buzz is way different too, which surprised me. I'm curious to see what they do with HISTA since it's not coming back. I'm hoping not the Monsters Inc laughing floor like I heard rumored. Never been, but it doesn't sound very TL to me either. What happened to TL actually being a land of tomorrow?

It's not. But it is fun.

I **cannot wait**!! I love anything to satisfy my SciFi GEEKness :)

I saw info regarding the computer peripherals and some of the toys on one of the gadget blogs I read (can't remember if it was Engadget or Gizmodo). There was also a post about street-legal lightcycles being made!!

When is the new Tron movie coming out? I can't keep track of all the summer blockbusters this year. I loved the old Tron. It will be hard not to compare the remake against the original.

Yeah Disney is marketing this movie well. We've been hearing about it for 2 years and they've been "leaking" small bits here and there and the marketing push this year has been huge leading up to December. Kind of like they did for Alice. I'm crossing fingers that this is an enormous blockbuster hit. First off, Disney needs more of them that are not Pixar related.

I never rode the Rocket Rod ride that replaced the people mover, but from what I could see (POV videos on youtube) it was an awful ride. Let's hope if a new Tron light cycle ride comes to DL on the old people mover track, it's not just a old rocket rod with the light cycle shell over it! LOL

And P.S.: Here's why I like WDW's SM better than DL's SM, here's a quick recap of the ride: lift hill, lift hill, lift hill, right turn, right turn, right turn, right turn, right turn, right turn, right turn, LEFT TURN!!! (OMG, a left turn!), right turn, station brake. :)

I am waiting for the announcement of TRON on Blu-ray. Amazon shows the item but no release date yet. :confused3

The best thing of TRON is the awesome soundtrack. Wendy Carlos' music was the perfect choice. I can relive the greatest parts of the film just by listening to it.

If you are TRON fan, make sure that you have signed up with Flynn Lives (www.flynnlives.com). There have been some really cool events and every so often you get a surprise in the mail. You can also read up on the story line since the first movie ended leading up to TRON:Legacy.

One of the items we got a few months ago was an ENCOM employee badge to "infiltrate" an event in San Francisco. You can find some video of the event on YouTube...pretty elaborate for a viral campaign! Anyway, I am such a nerd that I WILL be wearing my badge to the movie in December! LOL.
