The restaurant website is offering huge discounts right now and I wanted some help from people who live around there on a few restaurants. Have any of you heard from any of these places? There would be 2 adults and 2 kids. How far are they from Disney? These that I list are on roads that I THINK are close to Disney? We will have a car but we still don't want to go to far. Thanks for any help!

The Sandbox Bar & Grill at Desert Palms Hotel 631 W. Katella Ave, Anaheim
Sunspot at Anaheim Marriott 12015 Harbour Blvd, Garden Grove
Sheraton Park Grill 12221 Harbour Blvd, Garden Grove
Romanos Pizza and Italian Restaurant 12531 Harbour Blvd, Garden Grove
Azteca 12911 Main Street
Katella Grill 1325 W. Katella Ave, Orange
Melting Pot (there is one in Brea and one in Irvine)

Any input on if these are any good, etc., would truly be appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry I can't help. I want to know if these restaurants are good too! :goodvibes What a huge savings it would be!

I have not eaten at any of the resteraunts that you have listed, however if it helps, Disneyland is on Harbour between Katella and Ball Rds. So some of the locations are very close.

Have a great time!

It is irrelevant now because the Melting Pot certificates are sold out, but I've been to the one here in AZ and it was pretty amazing. It was very expensive, but it was worth it for the experience.

We have a Melting Pot in Sacramento and it's a very fun fondue place with wonderful food. It is quite pricey. We only go on special occassions. I'd be cautious if you have small children. The hot oil and cheese pots are right there on the table and you need go be aware all the time where their little fingers are reaching. I can attest, however, that it's possible to bring young kids and they will have a great time with all the bite-sized pieces of food.

I have seen them. Never eaten at them. They are very close to Disneyland. As I am sure you noticed, they are hotel restaurants, so tourist-based, not really somewhere locals would probably eat.

Don't know anything about this one. What city?

Katella Grill 1325 W. Katella Ave, Orange

Further away than the others, but not far. Maybe 10-15 minutes??? Never eaten there.

Excellent restaurant! I have eaten at the one in Irvine many times. I have friends who have eaten at the one in Brea. It's your furthest drive (but still not far - the Brea one), but it is a great place to eat. Fun, different, and yum!

Hope I helped some,
Dreams

P.S. You may want to use Mapquest to see their locations. That will give you an idea of the local geography. :)

Answering my own questions :rotfl: but I found this website which I think might be helpful:

Azteca

None of the restaurants in hotels have any reviews. We've stayed at the Anaheim Marriott Suites (Sunspot is the restaurant there) and we rarely saw anyone in there (late weekend in May 2009). Prices were pretty high compared to restaurants in the area, including Coco's across the street.

The Sandbox is at the Desert Palms Hotel across from the Convention Center. Very close, but not sure about the quality of food?

Definitely check out yelp.com for any of the restaurants and you should be able to find some reviews there.

Although the hotel restaurants may not be listed on Yelp.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Melting Pot.......I should see if they have any certs for the Sac location. :)

I have no input about those restaurants as I've never eaten at them but I wanted to say keep checking about the sold out ones, I was looking in my area and Carino's was sold out but before I finished my transaction they had added more. :) I got 6 $25 certs for $6!

I bought the Sandbox Grill certificate after seeing some positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Their menu looks interesting and it'll be hard to go wrong at that price. I know it's not on the up and up but I'm wondering if you have to show a room key or anything to ride the Candy Cane Inn shuttle? It would be so nice to ride it down that way to the restaurant from the parks. We'll probably just end up walking or driving, but it would be nice to just be able to hop on the CCI shuttle. Another possibility, though I'm not sure it's shorter, would be to ride the free shuttle to the Garden Walk and then walk over.

When we rode it yes, we had to show a room key.
