I realize this is a huge open ended question but well let's try it. My husband and I are going on a cruise out of Port Canaveral the first week of August. We have added on a couple of days at Disney at the end. We will be there August 9th and August 10th flying out the 11th. (Who knows what i am thinking with the heat and crowds). We will be at Epcot on Sunday and Animal Kingdom Monday. No kids on this trip. If there is one place you would really really recommend for dinner hit me with it. Either at Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs or one of the resorts. And why do you recommend it? Thanks. :)

In Epcot, I’d hit up Le Collier. My steak lover husband loves it and it’s now a must for every trip. The food is delicious!

Disney Springs has a million and one great food options...plus a fun and relaxed atmosphere. I’ve seen a lot of people recommending Homecoming so we are trying that one during our upcoming trip.

Jaleo. Fantastic Spanish food. Jose Andres is a great chef and a good human, so his business deserves our patronage.

Get the cheese board and the mixed charcuterie board. Order a bottle of wine, split a green salad and get a paella. Maybe mix in a few random side dishes if you're really hungry.

So Jaleo is actually one of my favorite restaurants. I used to go to the one in DC all the time so I was debating on this. The one problem is my husband does not eat fish/seafood so no paella for us. :(

Then go to Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge. You'd be kind of close. You could Uber back to All Stars. You could have dinner, then go see the animals, etc. It is a gorgeous place. And the bar there - Victoria Lounge - is great, too. They have a limited food menu, I think.
I like that idea. Thanks.

Boma at AKL. For Epcot we enjoy Chefs de France, Tutto Italia, or Le Cellier.

I have a solution for you!

The chicken and mushroom paella option is really good too. My kids love it.

Have you been to the Jaleo in Crystal City? It's just as good as the DC location but with less flying bat-winged monkeys. I think it must have to do with Crystal City rolling up the sidewalks after 5 pm...... :P

No I worked very close to the one downtown in DC so that was the one I went to.

Epcot area...I'd leave the park and go to either Yachtsman or Flying Fish. I haven't personally tried it, but Takumi Tei looks pretty awesome if you want to stay in the park.
AK...Tiffins if you stay in the park, but Sanaa or Jiko if you wanted to go over to AKL.
Resorts...so many options, but my parents just had dinner at Topolino's last night and said it surpassed California Grill, if you want a good meal with a view
Disney Springs...again- so many options, but if I wanted a nice meal, Jaleo would probably be my choice right now.

Since this is a no-kids trip, I vote doing signatures since it can be harder to get tired kids to sit through a big fancy dinner. We have been to Tiffins several times on special occasions and it is our favorite restaurant on-property. For Epcot, I would want to try that new Takumei-Tei--haven't been but looks really nice, and better for adults than for kids.

As for August, crowds are usually pretty light then. We go often because my husband and I have our birthdays and anniversary in the same week in August. Our heat strategy is to take midday breaks and focus on enjoy the cooler mornings and late afternoon/evenings in the park, hence why I recommended in-park options for dinner.

Lots of good suggestions already. We have not been to Disney Springs since it was Downtown Disney so can't recommend anything there (just not our thing).

If you want to stay in the park at AK, can't go wrong with Tiffins, it's our fav. Even can't go wrong with Nomad Lounge if you just want to sample some small plates and drinks for dinner. We have tried Jikos and Sanaa at AKL and weren't impressed but both may have just been having a bad night. The food was o.k. at Jikos and the service o.k. for for the price we would have liked one or the other to have been better than o.k. At Sanaa the service was by far the worst we have ever had at Disney and the food was actually bad in one of our parties case and my son actually had to send a drink back. That is the only time I've ever seen that.

At Epcot - the sky is the limit. You really can't go wrong with any of the TS restaurants there (maybe stay away from the one in GB) but we love Spice Road Tables.

Loads of places along the Boardwalk area, the Dolphin has a few signature type restaurants that are well rated and loved. We have stayed there at least 6 or 7 times and not tried any since there are so many other places on property to try.

Loved both California Grill and Topolinos. Not cheap but good food and the service at California Grill was the best we've had on property with the exception of Victoria and Alberts. Now if you really want to splurge, go to V&As. You have to dress up and the meal for my son and I including a wine pairing for both (I don't recommend that, it was a lot of alcohol, maybe one pairing and share) came to around $700-$750. A one time thing for us but worth it.

I'd vote for a nice glass of red wine and pizza at Via Napoli, finish the night strolling the world and then hit Saana the next night at the AKL.

Epcot has so many choices, Via Napoli and Nine Dragons are our favorite!!!

I will second Jiko, it is probably our single best meal we've had at Disney. Great atmosphere, service, and a varied menu.

Sanaa at AKL. The food there is amazing!
Raglan Road at Disney Springs. They have great food and great entertainment. We were just there last week and loved it.
