Huge lag time between cancels and online ressies

On the Dec cancel board last night a LeCellier came up for grabs. I tried to get it 20 minutes after it was posted with no luck. End of story...Right????? No. At 3 hours later someone got it. Must be a big window between the time it gets cancelled and the time it shows up online. I know this is not the case when you call to get someones cancel because that shows for the CM right away.

It's possible that there is a lag time, but I've read more replies where the cancel/grab works immediately than cases where it doesn't.

The cancel/grab system is not a guarantee, and it's possible that the person who thinks they got the December cancellation announced on the board got their reservation as the result of another cancellation by someone else entirely. While someone in Australia who never heard of the DIS could have gotten the reservation that was posted on the boards.

This is partly why there are no trades on the board. Disney used to allow people to designate reservations for another name. They no longer allow that. Now the only way to trade is to cancel and hope that the person hits submit before anyone else in the world snags it.
