Huge Favor, but not sure if it allowed

We just mailed our final documents and are hoping to be in Disney's system within the next two weeks (hopefully, sooner).

We have a trip to the Poly planned for 11/1-11/9, but were thinking if ANYTHING is available for that week, we would cancel our Poly stay and use our points (our contract came with 150 banked 2003 points that need to be used by 9/30/05).

I know this is probably impossible, but thought it was worth looking into to save some (actually alot) of money.

So, if this is allowed, would someone mind calling MS to see if any studios or one-bedrooms are available for those dates. I don't want to break any rules before we are even in the system...lol!!!

I know that even if there is availabilty, it may not be there once we are in the system, but I figure it can't hurt to try.

Thanks so much in advance!!!!

I wouldnt worry, I am sure something will be availible. If you look on the point chart Nov.(besides Thanksgiving) is Choice season, which isnt a very busy time. I have never called and there not be anything available. I called two weeks in advance and got a 2br at OKW during spring break.Worst case senario is you have to stay at SSR or OKW. OKW is nice and the biggest rooms of the DVC resorts. I would splurge and get a 1br. So much more room, you wont regret spending the extra points.

I am calling for you now - 6 minute wait

you are going during the food/wine festavial and that has become more popular lately with DVC members.

no luck - there isn't a studio at any of the resorts 2 days together.

You can change resorts nightly and then maybe do it.

but that is awhole lot of trouble.

Thanks so much for trying!!!

I figured it wouldn't be possible, but never hurts to try!!!

Thanks again!!!

Spiceycat-

Quick question...do you happen to remember what DVC had a studio on 11/1. That is the first night of our trip (the rest is 5+2), so if we could stay somewhere on points just that night, it would still be nice savings.

Thanks again!!!!!

studio at OKW and SSR for Nov 1

there maybe one at BCV - she would have to check on it to see if still availability

Deanna,

As soon as you get in the DVC system, call and asked to be placed on the waitlist. The waitlist cancels out at 30 days out, and you have to request to be put on it again. You should be able to cancel your Poly stay up to 5 days out without penalty. Hopefully there is a good chance that something will open up for you. And even though you are on the waitlist, I would call and check availability from time to time. Sometimes CM's just happen to find openings all of the sudden. Also, if you really need to burn the points you could book the Poly with points, these are much higher point requirements than DVC rooms, but if you don't think you will have another opportunity to use the banked points, it would be better than losing them. (just a thought) Best of luck and Welcome Home!

....obviously the 30 day waitlist comments don't apply here because your stay is only a month away!:o I've just totally lost track of time these days!!:hyper: Hope wherever you stay, you enjoy yourself!:sunny:

Even a 1 BR might be cheaper than a cash room at the Poly and also allow you to use the points. I also agree about the wait list, at least until you get to the 7 days out. Remember that the wait lists starts over at 30 days out so you have to call again to get back on the list.

Thanks again for all your quick replies. I guess we just have to wait until we are in the system to see what is available.

Thanks again!!!

Deanna2426~

I'm going the week of Nov 1 also. I had to use "holding" points from a cancelled HHI trip and I called at 60 days out. I got the last 1 bedroom (wanted 2 bedroom villa) at OKW (or so the MS CM told me). I'm on a waitlist for a 2 bedroom, so if that comes through for me I'd be glad to pass along your name to MS if you want my 1 bedroom for the week ? Not sure if this is allowed or not ? Of course, my 2 bedroom may not come through, but it's worth a try ?
ps: also, I thought the waitlist expired 7 days prior to check-in and then you had to go directly through the resort----or MS went directly through the resort ? (in my case we want OKW but stated we'd take any 2 bedroom anywhere at this point).
Ohhh.....edited to add that we won't arrive until Nov 2 and checking out Nov 6. I noticed your dates in WDW are longer than that so this might not be very helpful to you.

MiaSRN62-

Thanks for the great offer. I am not sure if that would be allowed, especially since we are not in the system yet (uuuuuuugggggggghhhh) and am not sure when we will be.

I really hope your waitlist comes through!!!

Thanks again for the really nice offer.

Everyone here has been so supportive. I really can't wait to truly be your neighbor!!!

Thanks again for the really nice offer.
You're welcome.....after I offered I got to thinking that I'm sure MS would go to the existing wait list first ? But I hope something comes through for you----anything can happen ::yes::

That's the real truth. What is and isn't available today will have changed by the time you are ready to book. Now you know that the resorts are basically full but they have people changing plans every day and you may hit it just right. Good luck!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I would be happy if we could just get that first night (Nov. 1). I'll just keep hoping for the best.

At least I should be able to make ressies for June/July fairly easily. We'll be in the eight month (hopefully) window for BWV.

Thanks again!!!
