Went to Epcot Food & Wine festival last weekend- crowds were unbelievable. Crowds have been pretty bad every time I have been there or any of the parks recently. I would like to hear some feedback on when you have been that it was no so busy...

:crowded: Epcot last Saturday- Like this all around the lake. :scratchin

Oh boy, it was the same way last November when we were there. We actually went for Jersey week...the 5 - 12 (or something like that) and didn't realize how crowded it would be now that F&W was extended.

The good news was that we were able to get into the Rose & Crown without ADR's. We didn't have much of a wait either.

We'll be avoiding F&W from now on...for more than one reason. hee hee hee :drinking1 :rolleyes1

We were there October 20-27 last year and it was very quiet. My jaw dropped when I saw that photo you posted!

We were there the first weekend this year and saw crowds like the one in the picture. In fact, we found large crowds at all the parks the last week in September. It was quite unexpected.

Ok I thought it was just me! I am here now and was here 2 yrs ago this time and I am shocked to see all the people. Not just at Epcot but other parks seem busier to me then before.

It was hit or miss when we went this time, first week of October....I'm attributing the lines/crowds to Columbus Day weekend. They also had a breast cancer run at AK on Sat. 10/7.
We've gone down there during the fall a bunch of times and there were NEVER crowds.
This time? Big crowds at MK and Epcot (for food and wine).
I don't know what to think..

We were there a few weeks ago and the weekends have been slammed at EPCOT.
Obviously many many locals dropping by for the festivities.
Once again the magic of Disney marketing at work...hopefully these ever increasing crowds will help my stock.

Crowds were like this when I went as well. Got 3 flat tires from wheelchairs in about a 5 minute span. Some kinda disney world record??

The food and wine festival just isn't high priority for us. Well actually it's kind of an afterthought. But we do have occasion to go into world showcase and this is what we observed. Food and Wine was very crowded the first week in October, but more so during the evening hours. The Day hours weren't all that bad but it was so hot and dry dehydration was an issue. That cut down on participation. I'd estimate 5-10 minute lines at the booths during the day. They were walk up at some of the less popular ones. We went on a Thursday for Le Cellier dinner. We could see it was crowded at the booths. We went on Saturday, it was very crowded. We went on Sunday (last year not so crowded but this year very crowded. The lines are not very efficient at the booths. I'd estimate people were waiting 20 minutes and more for a taste and a snack on thursday and 30 in the evening over the weekend. World Showcase itself got rather jambed on both weekend evenigns but was easily navigated during the day. We waited about 30 minutes at Crystal Palace and about 20 minutes for Crush and 20 minutes for the Grotto. Other than that, we barely waited over 10 minutes for anything all week. We used fastpass very aggressively when needed, arrived early, and had a great park rotation. Yeah. I know. We're spoiled. So it really didn't look worth that kind of wait to partake in the festival booths this year for us. Plus it was so dry and hot that first week that hydration was a serious issue. That really put an end to the decision. We couldn't do it in the daytime when it was less crowded, and at night it wasn't worth waiting for. So we did other things instead and had a great time doing them.

Wow that first pic of crowds is awful. We leave a week from today (be still my heart! I actually had a dream last night about getting there), I hope when we go next Wednesday lunchtime isnt bad--plan to do the FW grazing for lunch...

How did that happen? :confused3

:faint: We arrive in a couple weeks - middle of the week and hoping it doesn't look quite like this!!! ARG!

It will still be Disney though!!!

We have visited WDW Oct 20 - Oct 30 for the last 5 years. Each year seems to get busier and busier. Last year on Saturday the crowds were so bad that we decided instead of flying home on Sundays we will now start coming home on Saturdays. It's just not fun trying to get through all those people.

This is the time that Hurricane Wilma came through and many people were cancelling their trip. After Wilma the parks got busier each day. Many of the people were families from further down South who had no utilities from the Hurricane and brought their families to WDW. By the last weekend it was very crowded.

Ok I'm officially scared now....we're going to be there for Jersey Week! The crowds in the picture is worse than when we went for the week after Christmas and Spring Break. Maybe I need to re-think all the time I'm planning on going to Epcot...

We'll be at Epcot tomorrow :woohoo:  . I am guessing it will be nothing at all like the pic posted by OP. IF it is we will focus on having a lovely day in FW, and seeing WS the next time we visit.

We were at EPCOT on Sunday, October 15 and it was less crowded than that. It was quite busy, but didn't feel packed, and we were able to do everything that we wanted within 6 hours with little or no wait. (We used a FP for Soarin'.)

Saturdays always seem really crazy for F&W, but Sundays can be less busy (it's hit or miss on weekends 'cause the locals like me come out).

OMG...that picture makes it look pretty miserable. We're going to be there next Thursday, so I hope it's a little better. I actually worked the F&W Festival back when I did the college program after I graduated in '02 and I remember plenty of days that there was no one around...usually in the middle of the week, though. I do definitely think the Fall has become a more crowded time to visit in the past few years. I also worked at AK and I remember one day in September when they let a bunch of us go home b/c the number of cast members exceeded the number of guests in the park! It was a really rainy day, but still!

We went the 3rd week of October last year on a Wednesday and it was empty. There were no lines at any of the food booths. We had a great time. I would advise people to avoid EPCOT on weekends during the F&WF. But during the week, it's great! :)
