Hubby just announced that he really wants to do the Luau while we're at the Polynesian.

Anyone have any opinions on this show. It comes with a pretty hefty price tag. There are 7 of us, 2 of us are under 4.

I enjoyed the show. The food was a bit disappointing - but the desert was yummy! If it were me, I would not take the younger ones... I'd make it grown-up time.

Unfortunately they'd have to come with us. Well my 4 year old can stay at day care but my 2 year old I believe is too young.

We just did the Luau on the 25th... and I would probably never do it again... for the price, it just wasn't worth it. I thought my 6 year old DD would love it, but it was difficult for her to see the stage (the guy sitting in front of her, managed to move into her view, whenever she shifted)... we were the second table back.

The food was good, but not worth the money... especially when my daughter decided she would rather have chicken nuggets.

The show - I would have to say the best part, for me, was the guy with the fire. That was amazing!

Based on how I feel about this, I think the next time, we're going to try the Hoop de doo...

lizzie64,

I haven't been to the luau since '88 or '89 (I'm sure some things have changed since then), but that year we did both the luau and the hoop dee doo. I've been back to the hoop dee doo since then and continue to enjoy it every time, but I haven't gone back to the luau at all. I've been there and done that and once was enough for me. Know what I mean?

However , having said that . . . if I had a husband who really wanted to go to the luau at the Polynesian, I'd go. Without question. I'm a firm believer in everyone getting to make some choices. It is, after all, their trip, too.

As for your little ones, they might enjoy it, but if you'd rather not take them you could check into Fairy Godmothers (do a search on the family board). They come to your room, and from what I understand, do an excellent job of entertaining the little ones.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Pat
