Hubby & Prego do Disney in August! - Final Thoughts (5/25)

Only 7 weeks to go?? I remember when you first said you were pregnant. I can't believe how fast it went! You probably can't believe it either! ;)

I never really look around WS, just kind of walk through it and go on the rides in Mexico & Norway. I'll have to make a point to really explore it next time!

What a great evening! I just love World Showcase. I wish I could have spent more time there. Isn't it the worst when people watch you eat?! It's just awkward. It was bad enough when people were standing at our table while we ate at CR. I can't imagine them standing there waiting for you to get up... :headache: I'm glad you got your ice cream!! And I can't believe Emma will be here in only 7 weeks! :goodvibes

I do, too! And J said he LOVED Epcot (I'm thinking it was his favorite park!)! And those kids were so weird! I mean, where were their parents?!
It's so crazy to think a baby will be here in a matter of weeks! Hope I'll have time to get everything together since I'm so OCD ;)

You should explore WS! It's so much fun! The food makes it even better! :thumbsup2

Hey everyone!
I know it has been way too long since my last post (what are we talking here, over 3 months, yikes!). But I really do have a good excuse. Little Emma arrived a few weeks early. Surprise! Guess that whole "due date" thing really is an estimate. Anyway, before I continue (and will eventually finish, I promise!) I wanted to share the fun story of Emma's arrival!
On Friday (Jan 8, actual due date Jan 25) I came home from work and my back was killing me (along with my feet looking like Fred Flintstone's), but it had ached off and on over the week so I didn't think much about it. We went out to eat and I noticed the back pain was a dull constant ache, but that it would get a little more intense every now and then. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep.
I woke up Saturday morning and my back was still hurting, but not the worse pain I've ever felt. A friend of mine who is a L & D nurse sounded concerned because the pain fluctuated. DH and I timed them and they varied from being 5 minutes a part to 20! I finally called the doc around 3pm and he said it sounded like false labor since I didn't think my water had broke (keep in mind I had gone to the doc the previous Monday and wandered if my water broke, turned out I was just tinkling on myself, fun, fun). I relaxed with a tiny glass of wine to see if that would stop the "false" contractions. It worked for a little while, then after dinner the pains were back and much worse. I tossed and turned in the bed and could not get comfortable. Finally at 11pm I turned to DH and said "We have to go NOW!" Of course he wasn't moving fast enough to get everything in the car, ha!
The ride down had to be the worst part! The contractions were horrible!! Every 2-3 minutes! I tried to keep myself occupied during the intense moments: locking and unlocking the doors, rolling down the window, etc. DH later told me later he thought I was going to jump out of the car (which I almost felt like at one point!). We pulled into the wrong parking lot since the signs were a little confusing. To make things worse, the parking lot we were in had no open doors around it! I prayed so hard at that point for God to please help me get inside and DH ran around to locate an unlocked door. He eventually got in and let me in. We hurried to the L & D area and I told him he would have to fill out the paperwork. I sat down in the waiting area only to have another (bad) contraction come on and I yelled for DH. I then got up and found myself a wheel chair and put myself right in it! My doc (who I absolutely love!) came out and jokingly stated "So I heard your doctor told you not to come in." I wanted to laugh but had no energy/ability.
The nurse wheeled me down to the delivery room so I could change and I told DH to call my mom. The doc then came in to examine me only to discover I was at 9cm!! :scared1: My first reaction, "Can I still have some drugs?" Next thing we know, there are 10 people in there running around, asking me questions, talking to DH, etc! Pure organized chaos! As the nurse gave me a local anesthesia I was ready to push and get this thing over with.
Long story short (too late, I know), we checked in at 11:55pm and Emma was born at 12:14am, 6lbs 5oz, 19 1/4 inches. She is healthy and perfect and we are so grateful to have her here!

Needless to say, things have been a little busy. But we're finishing up our spring break this weekend and I set aside some time to finish my TR. Thank you all so much for staying on board through this long journey! Y'all are the best! :lovestruc

Aww Amanda she is just precious! Congrats! That is such a funny (I'm sure not for you at the time) story about your labor. She definitely was ready to come into this world.

WOW!! :scared1: What an experience!!! That is so rare for your first baby, too!

Congrats to you and your hubby. Emma is a little doll! I can't wait to see what Princess outfit she picks at Bippity Boppity Boutique ;)

Can't wait to read more about your trip! popcorn::

Oh my goodness, Amanda. She is absolutely beautiful! :goodvibes What a precious little girl. WOW--I can't believe that it was so crazy right before she was born! And that you delivered her less than half an hour after you checked in! Thank goodness your DH found an open door! :scared1: But I'm sure that even though it was a surprise, it was SUCH a good one! Congrats again!!

Thank you! It was a little scary, but I don't think I had time to worry! :rotfl:

I know! My mom said if she had given birth like I did, she would have had a dozen kids!
And I have had so much fun dressing her up!! Can't wait for costume time!:dance3:

She is beautiful!!! Congratulations! :)

Just beautifil.

Congrats!!!! She is beautiful.

Thank you all so much! I LOVE her unconditionally!! :cloud9:

Thank you! Honestly, I had every intention of having an epidural, but there was obviously no time. But it really wasn't the worst pain I've ever felt. I think I cried more when I burnt my finger over steamed vegetables or cut my thumb chopping an onion!

Congratulations, she's so beautiful!

My little man was a week late and I thought I was going to die. That was the hardest week of my life. I can't believe that he's 14 weeks today. Where does the time go?!?!?

Enjoy and hold onto every second! :goodvibes

Hey everyone! I had some free time at work (I know, I know, shame on me), but I wanted to post again. Plus it's kind of hard to type while holding a baby! :cutie:
So, back to the TR! Thursday morning I got up to work out (yes, I know, lame-o). It was funny because this one guy was in there every morning! I appreciate people who enjoying working out, I’m one of them. But when you’re on vacation it’s probably ok to take a day off every now and then ;)
Anyway, we had experienced "nice" weather the entire week (hot, but beautiful) and today’s forecast…RAIN! Ugh, so much for dressing cute! As soon as I got back to the room, I woke J up and got him moving. We decided to stop off at the Boardwalk Bakery for some breakfast. We ended up splitting a breakfast sandwich (yum!) and a cinnamon roll, one of J’s absolute favorite things!

It’s amazing how much food you get with the meal plan! Drinks, dessert, etc! I’m all for getting it again next time! As soon as we finished breakfast we power-walked to Epcot and got there before 9. Once the gates opened we headed straight for Soarin’.
IMG_1962.jpg

It was a really cool ride! I do wish we could have gotten in front, but it was still neat. The one thing that drove me crazy (and this happens with quite a few rides) are the line jumpers! People would have family members get in line while they got FPs and then skip to where their family was. I don’t know, I’m probably just being picky. I guess I wonder if their family is really in line or not… oh well!
Afterwards we went to the Seas with Nemo and Friends!
IMG_1964.jpg

I LOVE those sea gulls!!
This was SO cute! I love Nemo! And I loved walking around in here. Last time I was at Disney this was still the Living Seas, so it was nice to see how much it had changed.
Afterwards, we walked over to Mission Space. There wasn’t much of a wait, so J went on to test level Green. I spoke with a CM about the intensity of it and if I could ride since I was prego and all. He said level Green was perfectly fine. Sweet! J soon came out and said it was a breeze. YAY!! I can go on a ride! It was pretty good, not sure if I could ever handle Orange! J decided he wanted to ride Orange, so he got a FP for it while I got him one for Test Track (I knew I wouldn’t be able to ride it this trip :sad1: )
We then walked around Innoventions for a while and the crowds started to pick up. Plus it was getting really hot! Um…where was the rain? Spaceship Earth was close by with a decent wait (I think it said 20 mins, but may have been closer to 30). Once again, I saw some line jumpers (grrrr… “My family is up ahead” “Oh really?!). J and I both really like Spaceship Earth. Guess it’s the teacher in us. Then we headed over towards Club Cool to try the infamous Beverly! J didn’t know it was notorious for being gross, so I took a pic of his immediate reaction.
IMG_1966.jpg

SO GROSS!!! The rumors are true, but it’s like a train wreck! You just have to taste it for yourself.
Unfortunately, this is where things start to go a little bad for J. You see, he’s not one to waste things. So when he filled his sample cups to taste all of the different sodas, he actually drank the whole thing! We’re not much into sodas, maybe the occasional one with a pizza or burgers, but I think the carbonation got to him. J’s poor tummy started feeling bad which gave him a splitting headache. So what does he decide to do, go ride Mission: Space level Orange! This did not sit well with him! Poor guy started to look really pale. What made things worse was that we had lunch reservations at Le Cellier soon! I think J kept telling himself to feel better, but I could tell he wasn’t himself.
We got to Le Cellier and it was pretty cool inside. Nice and cozy! We decided to split this meal since neither of us was starving. We got some sort of salad that was pretty good.
IMG_1969.jpg

I knew to order the soup and get a filet! Both were great!

(the pretzel bread was soooo good dipped in the soup!) <drool>
We also had the mushroom risotto (soooo yummy!) and the chocolate moose for dessert!
IMG_1973.jpg

I LOVED this meal and would definitely go back! Sadly, J was looking worse! I told him to go back to the hotel and relax. I was scheduled for a small DIS Meet with a few folks and was really looking forward to it! So we finished up at Le Cellier and went our separate ways. :guilty:

Up next! DIS Meet for Amanda! Will poor J feel better? And how will we end our last full day at Disney?!

Yay! An update! :) Poor J! I can't believe he still went on Mission Space even though he wasn't feeling well. That ride gets to me on my best days and it's not like I get motion sickness or anything. It's just something about that ride!

Gah! I hate those people with a passion!!

Good idea! Especially with all that food!!

MMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm. When we were there in August Fiance ate almost all the pretzel bread before I even got a chance. I was lucky he saved me like half a stick! :rotfl: Can't wait to go back there. Everything was DE-LISH!!

Great update! & congratulations on your new addition :goodvibes

Thank you! I was so glad that Emma came when she did (and to think I actually thought she might have been late! ). And she's already 10 1/2 weeks, it's so crazy how time flies and none of her NB stuff fits!

I think he originally questioned if he should go, but he had the FP so what the heck, right? Ugh! There is nnnnooooo way I'll ever go on that one! I've discovered in my "old" age that my tummy can't tolerate things quite like it used to. ;)

Gah! I hate those people with a passion!!

I really wonder if those folks realize what they're doing and don't care or if they're totally oblivious (probably not).
And I'm drooling thinking of that bread and soup...yummmm...
Thank you! She's wonderful!! :cloud9:

Yay!! An update. :woohoo: That breakfast croissant looks delicious! I'm so glad that you got to go on Mission:SPACE. I was afraid that J would come back and say it was too much too... Aw, poor guy. I know what you mean about the carbonation. I haven't drank a whole pop since I was in 9th grade. Even a few sips usually makes me feel weird. I can't imagine going on the Orange team side after drinking all of those little cups of it!! :scared1: I hope he gets better soon! And I'm anxious to hear about your DIS meet. I've still never eaten at LeCellier, but it's on my list for "someday". It looks great!
