We stayed at the Poly and my hubby was 'underwhelmed' to say the least......although I loved it!!! He thought it was dark and dated and couldn't understand why so many people raved about it.
We are planning on going to Universal and would like to stay at RPR......but how does it compare to the Poly? We want to stay club, so any comparrisions to Poly conceirege would also appreciated! :goodvibes

RPH is a much newer construction and the rooms are very nice. We enjoyed club level at RPH and would stay there again but we prefer the feeling of PBH, although we have not tried club there yet!

Hi Clare,
Are the club rooms at RPR on a specific floor? What did you think of the offerings at the club lounge?

We stayed at Portofino last time, which we really enjoyed, but are now trying to save some pennies! :rotfl: What did you prefer about PBH in comparrison to RPR?

The Poly is our favorite WDW resort but I can easily see why some feel it is run down. It is designed to be authentic Polynesian but my first thought when I saw it was it was a scene out of the "Brady Bunch Goes to Hawaii" episode. While both have the Southeast theming, RPR is much more modern. Be prepared as the rooms will be much smaller than the Poly and PBR but definitely doable. We overcome the space issue by booking Club level which gives access to a large lounge. Club level is all on one floor. It may not be cost effective for all guests but just the convenience of having access to the lounge (even without the amenities) is worth $50/night extra to us!

The Club rooms at RPR were all top floor and the lounge was nice for a snack in the evening. Prefer PBH due to the rooms being so large, theming and the pool is so nice plus it has a hot tub and then there is always the Mandara Spa :)

I find the Poly to be pretty campy. RPR isn't at all like that. It is very classy.

RPR has a hot tub also. The pool is beautiful, landscaping is beautiful, rooms were plenty big enough for the 4 of us and we have teens. The club lounge was FANTASTIC!!! We did dinner there, not just a snack! Food was terrific! The guys (club hosts) were absolutely great!! Kerry was so nice!! We will never NOT stay at the RPR on club again, even if we decide to add Disney back next year. It is RPR for us from now on!
