I do have a confession… I found the DIS board from another message-type board. Someone had linked back to the DIS board and it was from that moment… I was hooked!

You have the coolest people here lending tons of ideas, thoughts, encouragement and friendship! My favorite subject is “food porn”! :lmao: Imagine explaining that to my DH! It makes the “lurkers” out there want to join right in. So, that’s what I would like to do, if I may.

Like many of you, I turn to the internet to satisfy my Disney fix. I am a wife of 17 years and a mother to two girls (soon-to-be 19 and 14). None of them have the fascination that I have for all things Disney. Don’t get me wrong, they like it – but I don’t think I have to explain it to you folks. Just to give you an idea… I have purchased 5 different 2007 guide books for my upcoming September trip – and I am a WDW veteran with 30+ trips under my belt. So, I’m a bit obsessed in a way.

“Hello, my name is Lydia and I have been a Walt Disney World-oholic for 32 years.”

Current Trip Planned: September 21-29, 2007
Coronado Springs (king room)
Disney Dining Plan (FREE!)
8 day Base Tickets (no extras, no park hopping)
Using Disney’s Magical Express
Celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary and DHs birthday

Cast of Characters:
Me - Lydia (age 37)
  • 30+ WDW trips since 1975
  • Experienced 10 WDW hotels so far (ranging from Pop Century to the old Golf Resort)
  • Last trip was Dec 2005, Pop Century
  • Former Disney Store cast member
  • Lost my first tooth right before the Polynesian Luau (mother about killed me! I ate nothing!)
  • Been counting down for this trip since the 300th day
My DH – Steve (age 37)
  • 1st trip to WDW was for our honeymoon in 1989, Caribbean Beach
  • 4 trips, 4 hotels since 1989
  • Last trip was Spring of 1998, old Dixie Landings
  • 1 trip to DL, but doesn’t remember the year (the summer Elvis died – he remembers hearing it on the radio on the car ride home – mother was distraught!)
That’s right! No children on this trip!

Now… I do have several aspects of our trip already planned out. I will lay them out before you in upcoming posts.

*** Source of inspiration: Jaycns. If you are out there... your trip report made me weep all the way through! And I felt silly starting a pre-trip report so early, but you inspired me to post in January!!!

Anyone up for a whirl-wind, Disney trip with me?

I'm so excited for you and I hope you both have a wonderful time! I am very lucky to have been so many times, but it's rough after you've gotten married. So... live it up now while you can!

I'm here, I'm here popcorn::
tell us all about your Dis obsession, your trips and your plans.... you're among friends, we want all the details. As I say to my DH (and yeah, he just rolls his eyes) "start from the beginning and tell it like a girl"

I'm in as well. I have found the story telling and sharing to be such a great way to add to the anticipation AND keep the trip alive and well long after it's over. So plan away, and I'll be a-reading!

I will join you while you plan out your trip. popcorn::

I just started a pre-trip report for the first time, too. It's helping me deal with my WDW and everything Disney obsession, while I wait till our December 21-January 1 trip, to celebrate our anniversary and the holiday season.

You have a good start going! Isn't this fun, and I understand finding these boards and getting hooked immediately. If you are as big a fan as all of us are, then this is definitely the place to interact and share our love for all things Disney. :goodvibes

Anyone up for a whirl-wind, Disney trip with me?

I thought I slipped into the Twighlight Zone reading your initial post...
50 or so trips since 1974
Married 17 years this April- DW and I split our honeymoon between GF and CBR
Two DD's- younger than yours, though
I am the WDW Uber-Fan in our household.

Thanks for joining me! I will have to go and find your pre report. I think we will be well cared for on this board!:)

Wow! That IS pretty close. Too bad there is usually just ONE uber-fan in the house. I am going through that right now. I didn't think it was going to be a problem, it's hard wanting to share the excitement only to find it's one-sided. Once September gets here he'll perk up, I only have to wait 8 months for that to happen though!

OK..... I just decided to include the MNSSHP in ours plans! YEA! So, we will be attending the party on arrival day (9/21) and having dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. I have heard that the wait staff dress in costume and the characters wear masks. I LOVE villians and Halloween in general.

Since my husband would be heart broken if we didn't go to the Hoop-Dee-Doo, I am making that ADR for the day we are in the MK and it closes fairly early (9/25).

Whoo! I make our ADRs next Sunday at 6am!

have you been to Coronado Springs before? We will be there 9/28 to 10/2. I also plan on Making my ADR's for Liberty Tree Tavern for our MNSSHP night!
I think it's wonderful you and DH are taking a trip alone together  I would love to do that with my DH but I think we have a while to wait because if DD found out she would be crushed! I can make my ADR's on 4/1!! I know what you mean about the food porn....I am guilty of going over there to look at pics while I am eating something boring and fantasize I am eating some of the yummy desserts! :rolleyes1 I have issues, I know! LOL! Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

No, we've never stayed at CS. My parents have and they enjoyed it. Here's my strategy (shhhh... don't tell anyone :rotfl: ) : the way I see it, most of the people that stay there are there for conventions/meetings. So, I would think the buses are less crowded for the park goers. My parents drove to the parks everyday, so they couldn't help me with "the strategy". My main pet peeve is the bus system at WDW, so I hope staying at CS helps just a little.

I would love to hear what you have in mind for your ADRs! Our dates at CS overlap by one night!

Well it is a shorter trip this time :( but our first night we are planning Ohana's, also Lecellier or Concourse Steakhouse ( I need to be deciding!) Liberty Tree tavern and hopefully Cinderellas Breakfast at the castle (we haven't done this one yet) I am also trying to decide on a Boardwalk restaraunt and am thinking Spoodles. Got any suggestion?

Ohana, Le Cellier, Liberty Tree Tavern are definatly on our list! Spoodles seems to get rave reviews over the Flying Fish, so I would go with Spoodles. We went there back in the 90's but it was for breakfast, so I'm no help there! We are trying Le Cellier for the first time, and I'm sure it won't disappoint! Many great reviews have steered us that way. Have a great trip(s)!

Hi, 2BusyPlanning! I'm having fun following links to other people's pre-trip reports and I found yours. Isn't it great to have a place where you don't have to explain any of your WDW obsessions? I swear, we will all end up in some sort of 12 step program for it!
Sounds like you are having fun planning everything out for your September trip. I'm jealous not only that you have been sooo many times, but that you are doing MNSSHP! We've never been before during that time of year...other than our honeymoon and I'm not even sure they were doing that then...gee...almost 14 years ago now. We were so clueless!
I'll send good vibes your way, hoping next Sunday that you get all the ADRs you want without issue! :goodvibes
I'm subscribing to see what other fun you, as an ultimate WDW expert, plan.
Oh! I had to laugh when you mentioned losing your first tooth...My oldest DD lost her first tooth while waiting for a bus at DTD...and I was thrilled that the Tooth Fairy left her Disney Dollars! She hasn't ever forgotten that and both DDs always are hoping for loose teeth during vacations. None will be had this vacation, though, I don't think!

I am also a disney addict. I got hooked back in 1978 and there was no stopping me from then on. I've enjoyed seeing all the changes each time we go back.
Got my DH addicted round about mid 1980's and then each of my kids from about the age of 1. My eldest DH took his first steps at disney. Now they love disney as much as me.
Always good to meet new disney lovers.

1978 disneyland CA
Then CB lots of times,Wilderness Lodge, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans, Dixie Landing, Poly, Yacht and Beach many times, AKL a few, villa at disney institute,Hilton at buena vista, Hyatt grand cypress, Disney's Vero beach.
Also, Disneyland hotel Paris, New York Hotel, Newport bay,

Welcome "Ibelieveinfairies" and "Dis1978"! I love the fact that we are all here for the same thing. I enjoy hearing about peoples experiences at WDW, makes me feel like I'm there.

:yay:

Whoo, hooo! Just made the reservation official yesterday with FREE dining! I'm sure many of you feel the same way. One little dissapointment though. We didn't get our Wildreness Lodge upgrade, nothing but consierge level available. So, we just went up to a king room at Coronado. I paid off the package balance in March so I will be getting about $500 back! Can I get another "whoo, hooo"?! Anyone know if they send a refund check or put it towards a credit for when I check in at the hotel itself? Just wondering.

We've made several trips to WDW over the past 31 years, and this will be a CSR first for us. I am so excited! It looks like a beautiful resort.

I am also trying to decide where to order DHs birthday cake. We are going to be at the Sci-Fi for dinner that night and I wanted to order one of the 8" custom cakes. But, I would rather see if CSR can make one up. Anyone know?

160 more days! :yay:
