We are planning on going to HS Saturday 9/21 but have a 5:15 reservation at Raglan Road in DTD. What is the best way to get to our reservation from the park and what time should we leave HS? Should we just go back to our resort and then take the bus from there? We are staying at POR. Thanks!

You could walk (or boat) to one of the nearby EPCOT resorts and take a bus from there. The nice thing about going back to your resort (POR) is that you can take the boat to/from DTD from there.

I would take a bus to either Pop or AoA, whichever comes first, and transfer there to the DTD bus.

Travel time could be up to 1 hour, including wait time for the 2 buses. Adding in walk time to Raglan Road and a 15-minute cushion, you should be at the DHS bus stop 90 minutes ahead.

Although Raglan Road is closer to PI, the 2nd stop at DTD, I suggest getting off at Marketplace and walking. The bus' travel time from MP to PI, especially in Saturday evening traffic, is likely to eat up the time saved by the shorter walk. Plus, if you're early, you can spend time browsing at the MP on the walk.

Walking to the BW, you run the risk of the bus filling up before it gets to you. You could walk to the Swan, which is the first stop on the Epcot resorts loop, but that adds about 15 minutes to the bus ride, which erases the time advantage over Pop or AoA.

The advantage of returning to POR and using the boat to/from DTD is that you avoid the Saturday evening vehicular traffic that a bus or a car/taxi would end up dealing with.

For approx $10-$12 plus tip, you could be there in 15-20 minutes by taxi, and spend an extra hour or so in the park, and you'll be dropped off very close to the restaurant. It's only about a 3 mile cab ride.

I agree that the boat is a very nice ride, but how long does it take from POR to DTD? Don't they often fill up on weekend afternoons? Even though POR is the first load point, I think they save some seats for POFQ when there are guests waiting to board there.

The buses circle around the back to DTD MP, avoiding the worst of the traffic until they head to PI.

Is this a recent change? When we were there in March, the BW was the first stop and then the Swan/Dolphin. If all 5 resorts were on one route then it was YC, BC, BW, S/D.

DTD buses normally stop at all 5 resorts, and the normal order is to start with the Swan and finish with BW. It's been that way for at least 5 years.

The coordinator can change things around as needed. They may send some buses to start at BW if there are guests there who were left behind. Or, if a bus coming from DTD has wheelchairs on board that are going to BW, the bus may go there first so the wheelchair doesn't get blocked in by guests boarding at the other resorts. Everything is always subject to change or adjustment.

Sometimes an extra bus or two will be parked at FG, and be dispatched to start where a bus got full.
