Should we arrive at HS? I think it has been opening at 7 and now it is 8. We are trying to get that coveted boarding group!!! We plan on lyfting over too. Thanks for any tips/advice.

What are you hoping for? To simply get in before open to be ready to get a BG? Rope drop a certain ride? Mosey around? 😆 what you hope to accomplish would affect my answer

If it were me I would want to be at the front of the rope drop pack and would arrive 1.5 hours before open. But not everyone has the same plans!

What @Calee wrote.

If your only priority is to try for a Rise of the Resistance boarding group, I would be at the park by 7:15, to ensure you are inside the gates before boarding groups are released at 8:00.

If you also want to try to be toward the front of the rope drop crowd for Smuggler's Run, or Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, or Slinky Dog Dash, or to a lesser extent Tower of Terror or Rock N Roller Coaster, then I would be there by 6:30. And aggressively stick with the crowd heading in those directions when permitted to enter.

If you have no interest in any of this, get there about 8:30. :)

Yes to hopefully get the boarding group and to also get in line for the Runaway Railroad.

I would get there a good 1.5 before rope drop to be close to the front of the rope drop pack. I usually do an hour but with HS like it is right now I would definitely do more than an hour

I would not assume that the time will not change to an earlier open as the dates get closer.

People are arriving at 7am to get into a bg and rope drop an attraction.
A strategy thread for this in in the subforum

if all you care about is a BG and you are not looking to rope drop, you just need to be in the park by 8. You do not need to be there an hour before. Depending on if you have bags or not, you should be able to arrive 7:20-7:30 and safely be inside.

The bag line can take a little longer. But remember, the person who scans into the part at 7:59 has the same chance as the first person in the park. I arrived at 7:47 by Lyft, and was in the park by 7:55 and got BG 63. That was late Jan however, and I understand security is a little crazier right now.

My son did this last week, and he said they started allowing entrance 30 minutes before park opening. Rides weren't' open and I believe people were held on the main street until opening time, but that allowed him to be in the park and ready to get a boarding group right at opening. He got BG 59 of 65. Someone near him got BG 7 and another got a back up group. So pretty random connection and distribution of the boarding groups. His BG was called around 1 p.m.
