HS in 1/2 day...really???

I've read a few posts that say that HS is a "half-day" park. I've been playing around with our touring plan for our HS day, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to do everything that we want to do in 1 day! I guess the catch is that for us "1 day" is from about 9-3. By then we are tired, ready to head back for a rest/swim and we probably won't go back at night. The hardest thing seems to be the timing of the shows and of course the lovely FP+ tiering for RNRC and TSMM.

If anyone has a great touring plan tip for HS, let me know! I don't know how people are done with this park in just a few hours! :confused3

Here is our list of what we would like to do:
Tower of Terror
Rock n Roller Coaster
Star Tours
Great Movie Ride
Toy Story Midway Mania
Frozen Sing-Along
Beauty and the Beast Live
One of the stunt shows (either Lights Motor Action or Indiana Jones)

If we have time:
Muppets 3D
Animation Studio
Character M&Gs
TS lunch at 50's Prime Time or Sci-Fi

We only take 1/2 a day for DHS just pick our favorites and ride them as many times as possible. We do not like GMR, Frozen, BB show or either stunt shows (we have done these, but just don't want to repeat them). We add LM and Muppets and lunch and we are done by 1:00 or so.

I can see why some can spend an entire day at DHS if you want to see more/do more rides and shows.

I don't get it either. We love HS and spend all day there. Our last trip we did 2 full days there! We like to see a lot of characters so Baymax and Hiro, Mike and Sully, Buzz and Woody, Disney JR characters, etc. We love TSMM! It is my DS favorite ride in all of wdw so we want to ride it more than once. We like the Beauty and the Beast show, the Little Mermaid, Disney JR show, and Lights Motors Action. We have to do MuppetVision and Star Tours and usually Star Tours twice for DH. I love the great movie ride. DS like Jedi Training Academy. We haven't ever had time for the Frozen sing a long and DS has no interest in Indiana Jones.

For us we don't spend nearly as much time there as we used to so I could see how some could say its a half day park....for certain people. We have seen all the shows NUMEROUS times so usually on any given trip we might see 1 or 2 shows. You can knock out RnR and ToT pretty quickly if you get there at rope drop. We FP Star Tours and Toy Story. I am also not a big fan of the eating or shopping in this park, so we don't spend much time on those either. So yes, we could be out of there by 2ish....but again, we have seen all the shows a lot so we usually just pick 1 or 2 that fit.

To me this is always the hardest park to schedule! I am trying to do a 3/4 day as well. I decided to try going on an EMH day to help. Here is my plan (though I have a few different attractions listed than you). I'm not super thrilled about having to do the shows back to back and I am thinking we are going to do a late ADR as I'm afraid even if we tried one for 11:00 we might not make Indiana Jones at 12:30.

8 am EMH
RNR
TOT
GMR
Star Tours FP 9-10
Muppets (may skip)
Toy Story FP 10-11
Free time to grab something to eat QS or snack may grab a TOT FP for 11-12 in case too busy earlier
Beauty and the beast 11:45 (could do at 3:00 if not doing late ADR)
Indiana Jones 12:30 (have to make this)
Car Stunt Show 1:20 (have to make this)
VOTLM 2:20 or skip and have ADR at 2:00 for sci-fi late lunch

It's a full day park IMO and that's under the assumption that you do not intend to do everything.

When we went last we spent 1 1/2 days there and still didn't get the chance to do the Great Movie Ride, Animation Academy or See fantasmic.

P.S. The theming at the 50's Prime Time and the Sci Fi is amazing. Definitely worth spending extra time on :D

Its a 1/2 day for us because we are "done" with the shows - we've seen them multiple times already. We've eaten at the sit downs as well and while both Sci fi and 50's were ok, we tend to just pop into the Writer's Stop. AK is not a 1/2 day park for us though - I walk all the trails and ride the Safari a couple times since the animals naturally nap on and off. Same with the shows there too - no Lion King or Nemo for us, sometimes we skip the bird show too. ;)
