HS - how are overall crowds?

I'm interested in checking out GE / Batuu when we visit in a few weeks. I have no desire to ride either of the rides there, I just want to explore the area. Should I avoid it until a later trip or is it possible to see the area without tripping over other guests? What about the park overall? Are the crowds spilling over to other areas? TIA!

Because guests basically need to be in the park at rope drop if they want a Boarding Group to get on Rise of the Resistance (and most say it’s one of the best rides ever)...Rope drop, even at 7am at DHS is busier on all rides than ever before and those lines keep up most of the day.
While DHS used to be calm enough to be an easy 1/2 day park if you arrived at RD, it’s now closer to a full day park due to longer lines and only (1) tier 1.
(And if you want to RD SDD, you need to be there 45+ minutes before park open to be at the front of that crowd)

Galaxy’s Edge is busy but even at Christmas people weren’t complaining about lack of space or claustrophobia or anything. The complaints were pretty much focused on the lines for the rides. If you go in the evening it will be especially quiet.

The rest of the park is busy earlier in the day than previously BUT It’s also getting less busy than previously late in the day. As I write this at 6:49 Eastern, the wait for SDD is 40 minutes and the wait for Toy Story Mania is 25 minutes.

I'm hoping it stays like this next week

Thanks! I was thinking that going later in the day would be the best way to do this. Thanks for confirming that!

Yes, end of day waits are more reasonable.

To show current morning waits:
I checked at 7:30 this am and TSM 40, TOT 60, RNR 75, SDD 95 and MFSR 120
Currently (10am) TSM 50, TOT 65, MFSR 80, RnR 85, and SDD 95
