HS FP+ Strategy?

My family of 4 are visiting WDW and staying at AoA April 3-9, so our 60 day window opens up soon here.
Kids are little, 4 & 7.

For HS, which we are doing on Monday, April 4th, I definitely want to get a FP for TSMM. I also planned on getting one for the Frozen Sing Along. I'm not sure about the 3rd. We want to see Voyage of the Little Mermaid, but I understand a FP isn't really necessary for this attraction.

I want to ride TOT, but nobody else does. So I'm thinking of booking a 3rd FP+ reservation just for me.

Or would it be best for me to sprint to TOT at rope drop, and maybe get a FP for all of us at star tours? Or try TOT as a 4th FP after we've used the others?

Or, do ST as 3rd FP for all but me, get TOT as a 3rd for me, and try to get ST in an overlapping window with others after I use the TOT FP?

Another question, if we only reserve 2 FP in advance, can we get a 3rd in park at a kiosk for a tier 1 attraction after using the initial 2? (Thinking Beauty and the Beast Live?)

Quick responses are appreciated!

You don't need a FP for BatB.

There are usually short wait times for ToT in the early morning. If you are planning to rope drop, the whole family can head to TSMM to get in a rope drop ride and then a FP ride. Or, have the kids and the other adult head to TSMM while you ride ToT and then meet them for the FP ride.

It's better to book your 3 FPs for what you want ride and show-wise rather than cancel any especially because you don't need FPs for large capacity shows.

Awesome, thanks! I will just book FP for all people for all slots, maybe including a TOT for myself, and then just rearrange if needed! How short are "short" wait times at TSMM at rope drop?

Probably less than 10 minutes because most head to TSMM, RNRC, and Jedi Training sign-ups.

Thanks again for your response! I was asking about TSMM wait times rope drop, not TOT. Any idea on those? btw, really appreciate your help! This is our first trip to Disney! Well, I went in 1982, but I was too little to remember it, and obviously a lot has changed since then.

For TSMM, get to the park at least 45 minutes before the park opens. It usually opens between 15-30 minutes early.

If you are near the front of the crowd heading to TSMM, it can be a walk-on or at least less than a 15 minute wait.

You should begin your FPs for 10:00a. Star Tours is also a short wait (5 minutes) within the first hour or so of the park opening.
