We are staying at Swan and headed to Hollywood Studios end of May and would like to hop somewhere in the afternoon. How time consuming would it be to take the boat from HS to Epcot? Not sure if they are running often nowadays. Or what if we hopped to AK? I don't want to hop to MK because we already have a couple full days there. I feel like I could see what I want in AK with a half day or half day in Epcot.

Any thoughts?

Jenn

PS. Don't recommend me walking from HS to Epcot, my feet will veto that plan!!!

Do you have other days planned in AK and Epcot? If so, I'd go to Epcot. There's so much more to do there, plus it's open later, and you don't have to wait for transportation. If a boats not available, take the skyliner, unless that's a no as well. I think you'd be fine going with a boat, especially if you either go early and have lunch along crescent lake or hop later, just so you're not going when everyone else is going.

How long would the boat take? Any guess how long would the skyliner take assuming that there was no wait for either. (which I know it's gonna happen!)

I think both take 15-20 minutes. Skyliner wait is usually low or non-existent if you go during non peak times.

I've timed the boat at 25 minutes. The Skyliner can take under 20 minutes.

If the boats are running every 15 minutes, you'll wait 7 minutes on average. Skyliner should be less than that in the middle of the day.

Other than opening/closing, are there periods during the day when the Skyliner is a longer wait?

Not really - just have to keep in mind how much later Epcot opens than DHS. DH and I just wanted to ride over to BWV to get something from the store there and were surprised how long the lines were for the CBR to Epcot segment at 10:15 AM.
