HRP DTD bus question & EE

I'm trying to decide between looking for less expensive hotel and renting a car or staying in a nicer, close hotel and skipping the car. My questions are: If I stay at Hotel Royal Plaza, would it be convenient to walk to DTD to catch Disney transportation (in case I'm not happy with the hotel's shuttles). How far is the walk. My trip will be 11/28 - 12/12 which is over 7 days so renting a car is very expensive (not to mention $7/day for parking at the parks)

Also, does this off-site hotel qualify for EE? I thought I read somewhere that it does. What about PS?

I think the only DTD hotel that is eligible for Early Entry is the Hilton, but they all participate in E-Ride Night.
