Just after a little info on the pool areas if anyone could help me :)

We've been to the HRH, how does RPR compare in the pool department? Do they play Music?

How does the walk to the parks/city walk compare, HRH is a very quick walk, I know that but how about RPR

The only other Q is do they play music by the pool of the RPR?

Many thanks in advance :D

Hello daywalker,

The pool at RPR dosnt not have a slide if that matters. No underwater music either but they do have music and live music at times also. They offer a kids water cannon activity area at RPR.

Since you have stayed at HRH before, decide on the atmosphere your looking for. RPR is lovely and has a tropical feel. You can stay at one and pool hop to the others if that helps.

LOcation wise HRH is a tiny bit of a shorter walk to CW. RPR is also a quick walk to CW and lets you out at the opposite side behind Margarittaville.

Good Luck deciding! I like both!

Thanks very much Jessica, that's useful info.

We have booked HRH for this year already but I was considering changing as obviously it's cheaper at RPR but, as we can book with Virgin Holidays here in the UK and are 'frequent virgins' (that is we've booked with them at least three times) we are entitled to extra benefits if we stay at RPR. We are staying 14 nights, we would get free parking saving $98.00 and free use of the gym (which we do use on holiday/vacation) saving us $168.00. We also get some other benefits thrown in too, just minor things like getting the same day UK paper delivered to the room etc. Non of this is available at the HRH as Virgin have RPR as a 'fllagship' hotel.

I've got some thinking to do!!

Are you a Loews First member? It's free if you arent and it entitles you to use the gym at no fee. Just a mention! Have Fun.

OMG, I didn't realise this when I was at the HR in October 04, I am a loews member. Thanks for bringing that up, I'm going to check out the loews site now :moped:

OK, been and checked and you're correct (not that I doubted you, just needed to see for myself). Would I still be entitled to this even if I don't book through loews first? When we checked into the HRH last year the guy informed me we weren't entitled to any loews promotions as we had booked on a promo rate (APH). I wasn't even aware of the fitness facillity benefit with loews at the time so consequently couldn't question it.

My wife and I have had multiple stays at both RPR and HRH, and can safely say we much prefer the Royal Pacific. As far as the pools go, I would say the lack of a water slide (which is great fun) is more than made up for - for the kids, anyway - by a really cool interactive play area, including the abovementioned water guns. I agree it is an easy (and lovely) walk to the parks.

I am also almost positive the only Loews benefit that is affected by your method of booking is the welcome gift. In other words, show your Loews First card at the gym for free entry.

And 14 days? I am very jealous ...
