A friend just returned from 10 days ar HRH loved it BUT..
she had planned for a late check it, got there at 10 PM and due to a "room flood'" had no room !!
They sent her and 4 kids to a off site hotel for one night the compensation a fruit basket and bottle of wine !
has any one experienced this ?:confused3

Those things happen but glad to hear HRH compensated your friend for the trouble.

fruit and wine would not make me happy for having to move my family to another hotel they did not get in to midnight !
one of the kids is 5 years old. I know some times unforeseen things happen but they should have had some of their bill taken care of .

Most hotels consider you a no show after 6pm unless you call and let them know. That's what I've always been told. They resold the room for the night.

Sorry she was inconvenienced.

No HRH knew she would be late she booked all of her plans thru Universal web site.\ with late check in
She did love it but said all in all she liked RPR better
We will be ther in 20 days but arrive at 9:30 Am !

Have been on the phone recently to Loews RPR, as we will arrive late in the evening, and they told me the rooms are guaranteed till 12 midnight. sorry about your frind scoobysmom, But probably the hotel was booked solid, and this is why she was moved, but think i would have told them where they could put the fruit and wine.
Did she talk to a manager and put her complaint to him, they should have got something for the inconvience.

Did they comp her first night at the off-site hotel and reimburse her for the night she lost at HRH?

also - I did just hear recently about a problem with a sprinkler over doing and a flooding situation at the HRH - she could be happy that she was given a dry room elsewhere instead of being "sent to" a nasty one :confused3 6 of one half dozen of the other......hope it didn't ruin the rest of her vacation!

that happened to me once. had a ressie with hrh 10 months in advance and they over booked..

i went to check in around 4 in the afternoon.

they sent me to pbh for one night.
it was free.
and they moved me over and then moved me back the next day.

I know that the off site hotel was paid for.. I don't know if they comp the night at the HRH. Other than that she had a great time

If HRH paid for her night at the off-site hotel and did not charge her for a night at the HRH that night they sent her elsewhere, then they consider that the compensation ... they see it as giving her a free night somewhere (just not at the HRH). The fruit basket and bottle of wine were simply a nice gesture, not compensation.

I'm in no way saying this is right ... there seem to be a lot of stories lately about check-in problems during the busy summer season, and I'm sorry that happened to your friend. Glad she enjoyed the trip otherwise.

when i was switched to pbh, it was free and also comped for the booked night at hrh. can't beat that

i doubt this will ever happen to me again though

Were they comped FOTL access even though they were offiste. That would have been my big issue!

They went back to RPR early and got the room keys ( the next day) but did not have a room until late afternoon

Yikes, I'll be checking in at midnight at PBR soon, hope that doesn't happen to me!

Are you taking the late Air Canada flight? Just let the hotel know that you will be checking in late.

Yep, that's our flight. I told them late check in when I booked it, but I may just call the hotel direct before we board the flight to remind them we are coming!

We've taken that flight soooo many times. We took it once in a snowstorm and got in to Hard Rock at 3 am. No problems! Until the next morning when we got up, went to the parks and then had to come back early afternoon for a long nap. I would call the hotel direct just to make sure.

Thanks damo! I will give them a call direct. I was hoping our room would have a sofa bed? I would like that turned down for Noel, so my sister and I could have the 2 queens. I am not sure the club rooms have sofabeds though.

I have taken that flight a few times too, my most memorable was in Dec 2004, when the temperture on arrival in Orlando was LOWER than what we left in Toronto!

The deluxe rooms at PBH are supposed to have sofa beds but I've heard of a few that don't. When you call, put in that request too.
