HRH pool view noise from your room?

Booked a pool view room Nov. 2022 which was the room available for a good package. How loud is the pool music inside your room? Are their quieter pool view rooms to request? (We previously stayed in a garden view room)

From our experience over Christmas , it's like you're sitting at the pool even when you're in your room noise level-wise :( - SO loud & super annoying - it was awful & relentless...never again.

I don't see how any of them would be any quiter, unfortunately - they all surround the main pool (there aren't that many of the pool view rooms) and presumably have the same horrendously bad sound proofing.

Thank you for your prompt response! I really would have preferred a garden view but it was not available w/o upgrading. I am going to try to call Universal and see if it can be changed w/o additional cost to a garden view or a canal view which is a water view.

Good luck :)!

garden views are normally cheaper. When we heard how loud our pool view room was (it was the only type available when we booked) we asked to be moved to a garden view they did it and refunded us the difference, which was about $40/night!

That is good to know! Did you request at check in or prior to arriving? It looks like there are many more garden rooms than pool rooms looking at a resort map. Where was your garden view room located? Did you like that location? Thanks for responding!

Well the first time we didn't know how loud the pool room was until we got into the room, at which point we called down and requested a switch. But if you already know you don't want this, just tell them at check in that you do not want a pool view but instead a garden view. They will be fine with it because its technically a "downgrade." They seem to know that some people don't like the noise from the pool view. Our first trip our room overlooked the Butterfly garden and it was great. Our second time we overlooked the canal/boat dock and that was also good. I slightly preferred the Butterfly garden wing but only because it was closer to the parks slightly. Anything on the canal side is great (the butterfly garden is that side too) - you can't go wrong.

I saw a you tube video of the location of the butterfly garden so I will try to request that @Check in. It looked very quiet and the location seems great! I tried calling Universal reservations to see if it could be changed and they said that current price for a garden room w/everything in my current package would be $500 more. She suggested asking to switch at check in. If I can not get near the butterfly garden, I will ask for the canal/boat dock. Thank you for all the information!

Oddly, even when it’s rained hard enough to drive people entirely out of the pool area, the music continues.

My understanding:

Pool view is considered an upgrade from garden view
&
GV is upgrade from standard view. Have booked standard, always upgraded at least to GV. No idea what the view is…entrance maybe?

or parking lot I guess?

We stayed at Disney’s Boardwalk Villas in the main pool view and did not hear music , pool noise unless you went on the balcony.
We marvel at that. when we stayed at both, same trip last fall, having a balcony door; expected it BW be be even louder nope

conversely, you can easily hear the electric water parade from the lake facing rooms at WL. The two DVC’s built in same era:confused3

That comment makes me laugh. We loved contemporary but that electric water parade always showed up right as the kids were settling. It was so loud even on a high floor. Pool noise doesn’t compare.

Same thing at the Grand Floridian. Luckily my kids were older and just went out to view the electrical water parade. Boulder Ridge is my DVC home resort but I have stayed there in some time and have not had a Lake view room.
