Hi, have just been reading about pool partys at various hotels for NYE, and we will be staying at HRH next Christmas, and it got me wondering if they do that sort of thing there?? - would be very cool if they did!!:cool1::thumbsup2

We were there last year for new years eve. There was no "pool party". We rented a cabana for the day and came back from the park at night. I think they might have had a dive-in movie.

They did have a party which you bought seperate passes for which included dinner in the "Kitchen", they opened what was a wing with conference type room and served dessert (set up in a hall adjacent to the velvet lounge) They had a portion of the main lobby roped off with a DJ, large screen and dancing. My kids took advantage of most of the activities.

thanks ever so much for replying!!:thumbsup2 - The Kitchen dinner sounds interesting - would it be suitable for a family of four (inc two small children)?? - just trying to make NYE a bit special, but with a 3 and 6 year old, the options are quite limited really!!:thumbsup2

I'd also like to know more about the dinner/entertainment at Hard Rock Hotel and whether it would be suitable for 9 year old? Do you mind me asking how much it cost?

thanks so much for posting that - that really helps (I had looked on the Universal site a little while ago and nothing was there - and I probably wouldn't have thought to check it again - so thank you for pointing it out!!):thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Would love to hear from anyone who has done either the Xmas Eve or New Years Eve events at any of the hotels!!!

don't know where to list this as it is not in the hotels but at City Walk during the holiday NYE.

found it in the orlando paper:

From the Orlando Sentinel:
Universal CityWalk has announced its plans for the night we roll over into 2010. The entertainers will be the Temptations (pictured, with hits "My Girl," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg") and the Four Tops ("Baby, I Need Your Loving," "I Can't Help Myself [Sugar Pie Honey Bunch]").
The evening includes entertainment within CityWalk's Rising Star, Red Coconut Club and Pat O'Brien's and a street party -- plus a bottomless "gourmet buffet." Midnight activities include a champage toast, party favors and confetti bursts.
Cost is $119.99 per person through Dec. 27. On Dec. 28, the price goes up to $129.99. Universal's annual passholders may buy in advance for $99.
