Am i understanding the parking policy correctly at HRH? It's $15 a day even to self park? Just found a good car rental deal that's even cheaper than a taxi. We will be staying from thurs night and checking out mon afternoon...you mean to tell me it's $75 for my car to take up space?? Just want to be clear before a reserve a car. That just seems silly:confused:

Here is the prices straight from their website:

Overnight Guests Self Parking: $15 plus tax per night Valet: $22 plus tax per night

Day Guests Self Parking: $20 plus tax Valet: $25 plus tax

It's $15.95 w/tax per night for self parking. No it is not silly. If it was free like Disney then the hotel prices would be even higher to cover the cost of parking.:thumbsup2

I would not have a issue in paying for parking if I were staying overnight. However...a few weeks ago and went to dinner with some friends who were staying at the RPH. I drove my car and wanted to spend a couple of hours with them at the hotel. When we returned from dinner, we parked in the lot using their room key for admittance. I was shocked to find out I would have had to have paid the $15.00 plus tax for the two hours I spend hanging out with them in their room. They came down with me and used their room key to let me out so I guess they paid for that night.

I think that's a little expensive for a only a few hours to pay $15.00 just to visit someone.

Thanks for the info. I meant that the silly part of all this is that the car rental itself would only cost me $49. To pay more to park it than to drive it just seems off. I've just never had to pay to self park at any hotel i've stay at before:drive:

Well if the people you we visiting had a car, then they already paid. You just slipped in with an extra car, no biggie. If they had no car it would show up on their bill that they used the parking lot, maybe.:confused3

I understand in your situation, but you have been lucky not to pay for parking. I would say where we go it's a 50/50 shot we have to pay. Just have to figure it into our budget.:thumbsup2

I don't think they had a car but my point is...$15.00 for two hours! That's ridiculous!!!!

Hell...I can park in the garage for free and walk over...which I guess is what I'm going to have to do whenever friends come down again.
:headache:

We are renting a car from Hertz at the HRH to go over to Disney for the MNSSHP on October 6th. We can pick up the car at the HRH and take it over to Disney and return the car to the HRH valet rep outside at 2am and never pay to park. Have you considered just renting the car on the days you need it?

Same here.....a 7 day rental full size alamo rental was $150 (with tax). Parking would have been $105. We chose a towncar instead. The car rental places are so darn convenient at MCO but the towncar worked out well and they were waiting for us a luggage pickup.

that is a good idea. honestly, this is a quick trip, not even leaving the resorts. we just need roundtrip to and from airport.

In that case, why don't you take the Mears shuttle to and from the airport and skip the car? That's pretty cheap.

I would do the pick up at airport drop off at HRH...then do the pick up at HRH and drop off at airport and see what you come up with.

I have no idea what she will pay for the car, but we got a rental to take us to MK for MNSSHP and it cost me $34 with tax.

you got off lucky.

day guest parking at the hotels are charged $20....

you would have been better off financially parking in the garage as it is free with your ap.
then take the boat over to the hotel.

I didn't have to pay...they used their room key to let me out of the lot.

So if I am staying onsite, but have an AP, I can leave the car for the duration of the stay (overnights included) in the main lot for free? Thanks.

no, it would be towed if you left the car in the garage overnight.
