Which would you choose if they were exactly the same price? We are planning a 4 night stay and the AAA rate is the same for both. The trip includes my DH, DD10 and DD7 in the first week of November.

If I had children and had to choose between the 2 resorts for a nice family vacation, I'd choose HRH unless room square footage became a big issue for me (standard PBH rooms are larger than standard HRH rooms). PBH is quiet & romantic and the walk from the hotel to the parks is quite lengthy, although you can of course use the boats. HRH is just a short walk away from Universal, we never used the boats at HRH. Either way, both hotels are beautiful and I'd be just as happy in one as the other. :)

I've stayed at both and I much prefer PBH. It has so much more ambiance. Sure the walk is longer but I need the exercise and when I'm tired, there is always the boat.

Are you Loew's 1st members? If so, I'd have to say PBH because you are far more likely to receive an upgrade there. The rooms are a little bigger and they have 3 pools. HRH is "cooler" for teens and pre-teens. Both are very nice and usually HRH is about $20 cheaper for their standard room.

I agree. We've stayed at all three of the Universal resorts and much prefer PBH over HRH.

I think your DD's will love PBH. We were there in Jan. with our 3 kids (DS 9, DD7, DD5) and they decided they liked this hotel better than the Nick Hotel we stayed at our final night! The rooms are just lovely and a really nice size. The resort is just beautiful, and we never waiting long for a boat. The boat ride was nice, and my kids really enjoyed it. The pool slide goes into water that isn't too deep, and it was a big hit with my kids, too. :sunny:
