Staying 6/19 and 6/20 and visiting parks on 19th, 20th, and 21st. Will have 2rooms with 5/room (3 adults and 7 teens/preteens). Looks like HRH is closest for quick walking to get an early start and I think the kids would like the theming. But PBH has larger rooms to better accommodate 5/room. We'll have a car also. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

IMO Portifino hands down, now I've never actually stayed at HR, just walked through the grounds and lobby, but I have stayed at Portifino and Royal Pacific several times. To me Portifino is one of the best resorts in the world, not just in Orlando, so to me its a no brainer. Hard Rock IMO is a little boring, very white, kind of sterile. Even though I'm into rock n roll :lmao: as a resort the Portifino just looks much superior IMO. And the rooms are big and very plush, plus Portifino is the only resort that has balconies. It is more expensive though. But worth it IMO.

My teen and tween LOVED the theming of the Hard Rock and would definitely pick it over PBH. (Although I like the theming at PBH better.) That said, although the square footage is fine at HRH, the way the room is set up (large space when you first come into rooms and with the queen beds, table and nice plush chair) I didn't find that we had any more floor space than we did at Port Orleans Riverside. We were able to fit the air mattress by the window but had to push the chair right next to the table. Personally, I would still choose HRH over PBH given your group. The convenience factor of the quick walk trumps the extra space for me, especially for a short stay. :)
