I just did a search on Hotels.com for a standard room at HRH in August. The best price I found was a AAA rate of $893.30 for 3 nights. The same dates, room and AAA diecount booking directly with Universal is $979.11. I have never used Hotels.com, but they are almot $86.00 cheaper than booking direct. Are there any hidden fees with Hotels.com?

Huge reason why I would not book with Hotels.com is that if the price goes down (which is very likely will) you cannot get your price lowered. If you book with loewshotels.com and the price goes down, you just call them and they will adjust your rate.

I realize there may be drawbacks to booking with Hotels.com. What I really want to know is if the price quoted by Hotels.com is the actual cost including all taxes and fees?

Are taxes included in the room rate?

No. You will be charged for the room rate (multiplied by the number of days you will be staying), plus tax recovery charges and our service fees. The tax recovery charge reimburses Hotels.com for the taxes (e.g. sales and use, occupancy room tax, excise tax, value added) paid to the hotel in connection with your reservation. The balance is a service fee we charge for the handling of your reservation. Tax rates and types vary by hotel, depending on factors such as location, time of reservation, taxability, etc. Since we do not collect the taxes, we are unable to provide an exact breakdown of the taxes assessed.

Thank you. Just so I have this straight. If I book a room at HRH with Hotels.com, I will be charged additional taxes and fees upon check-in. Is this correct?

This is correct as well as parking if you have a car.
