HRH ARRIVAL 3/23--day 1

After 14 hours and 10 minutes of driving we arrived in front of the Hard Rock Hotel!!!! We hauled all the stuff out of the back of the Jeep and loaded up the valet luggage cart…I went to check in and was told that the room was not ready (it was 1 pm) so we stored the luggage and changed into our suits and headed for the pool. VERY CROWDED!! We noticed this condition every day about this time. People show up in the afternoon and the rooms aren’t ready and head for the pool. The chairs are taken fairly early in the morning, and everybody roams around looking for chairs. My sister and I made it our duty every morning to head for the pool area, grab towels and get our chairs. We’d have our coffee and read the paper until the kids got up and then went and changed to our suits for our morning sunning!! Front Desk employees were fairly nice….I had two that were very nice and two who barely smiled. They gave me the room keys and only had 3 of the 4 names right, they had my husbands name on one and he didn’t even come!!! At 4 pm I went to check on the room and it was ready. On the 3rd floor which is the same floor as the Lobby. Pool view room was the same as all the pictures I had seen on the board. Our room seemed to take forever to get to, had to keep going down hall after hall. I did find out the next day to take the stair exit near our room and we came out to the pool exit gate. My sister and I showered and the kids headed for the parks. We then went to citywalk and ate at the Nascar café. Food was average and I was very tired by now!!! So we headed back to the rooms by 8 pm and the kids were back too. We all went to bed. They turn the music up and down several times during the day in the pool area. By 10pm the music was off…never heard a thing (other than the kid next door bouncing a ball off the wall) I had read all about how wonderful the beds were, someone will probably throw rotten eggs at me but I found the covers overwhelming…they were very heavy and made turning over hard….I know I’m probably just wierd!!!
This was our arrival day…..I will write up our cabana day next!

When we went last August, we had a room that took forever to get to, that was a pool view room. This past trip we were also on the 3rd floor, but wehad a garden view, it was 3 doors down from the HRH shop. I loved being that close to the lobby and the Velvet bar.

Hi Lynn Kelley!! Loved reading your report!!! We will be staying at HRH this June so I like reading all the little tidbits of the hotel!! Gosh, your experience with the covers reminds me of something I might complain about!!!

THANKS, FOR THE REPORT. I TOO HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOME NEW TRIP REPORTS. WE ARE GOING IN AUGUST. I LOVE READING ABOUT EVERYONES TRIP. I JUST FANTASIZE MY FAMILY THERE. IT WON'T BE TO LONG THO.
