HP tablet coming soon?

I just checked the HP webiste for the 16 gb tablet. It used to say that they were put of stock. Today it says "coming soon".. Does this mean they are getting more?

You do know that a week ago, HP announced a major restructuring.

They are no longer making any tablet computers; therefore, remaining stock is being sold at rock bottom prices, as there is no longer support for them.

They are also dumping their OS, Palm phone and PCs. They are staying with printers and going to a business division much like IBM.

I would think the website is just showing an error, as they are no longer producing tablet computers, so can't imagine how they would be coming soon.

Unless they are taking back stock from stores to sell on their website? Tiger

They're expecting a large return from retailers, such as Best Buy. My DS told a friend of his to watch for them when they hit the website as prices will be very low.

Makes sense, that is why I mentioned taking back stock.

I didn't know if OP knew about it though, as I talked to a few people this week, who had no idea about HP's announcement. Could be a good deal for those who were looking to buy one anyway.

Hopefully, it is not a glitch, and OP can get the tablet once they take back stock.

Oh yes, I know about the $99 price. I thought I got one from the small business side of the website this weekend, but DH called HP today and theybtold him we wouldn't be getting one. The card still shows pending though, so I'm still hoping. Then I saw the new mwssage on the HP website and hoped I would get a second chance.

We were tempted to pick one up just because it was 99 dollars. However, there will be virtually no apps. for it and we are afraid there will be no tech support soon. We are very happy with our Ipad though!

That's weird, because all articles I have read, said no more Touchpads at all.

Hmmm...? That is interesting to know - I guess I misunderstood.

Hubby wanted to buy one too, but nothing in our city at all. With no support, and bugs, I'm not sure I want to put the money out for it, but now that there will be more stock coming, I'm sure he's going to start asking again.

Thought maybe this link might be interesting for you. HP has set up an email waiting list type of service, so maybe you can sign up, and be notified when the tablets are back in stock.

The article mentions conflicting news from HP, and that is confusing consumers and retailers alike. I am a bit confused as well, as it seems that HP is now saying they may provide OS support. I guess no one will really know, until one needs to contact them for support, but this newest article definitely says they are no longer making the Touchpad.

I posted the article link above, which confirms your info. Best Buy is sending back a lot of them, just as you said, so hopefully that means good news for customers.

It's funny as the article says how the Touchpad is more popular at death, than it was when it was alive. No kidding!

HP is said to be restocking later this week but I'm sure they'll go in minutes once announced!

Best Buy's will be getting more in stock the next day or two. Several here in Phoenix got more today but sold out in minutes. More expected tomorrow but if you're not there when truck arrives don't plan on getting one!

my son works at Best Buy and NO touchpads are being sent back...in fact, they are selling out shipments within minutes of opening the boxes.

luckily, we got one. dh is thrilled iwth his new toy.
