Hi- we just got back from celebrating DS's 11th birthday at Universal. He had $100 birthday money to spend on souvenirs, and I wanted to pass along the advice we got from a helpful employee.
DS was awed by the sneakoscopes, the snitches, the omnoculars, and everything else he read about in the books. He could not begin to pick what he wanted! An employee helped and said the above items didn't really do much and were not a wise investment. She said their best sellers were wands ($29.95) and robes ($106). DS got a wand, but didn't want a robe. She also showed him the Triwizard tournament ring which was cool, but too small for his finger. The Triwizard neckalce looked cool, too, but they were sold out. She them showed him a stuffed Hedwig. It was really neat....it was actually a puppet and you could make the head turn. It also made owl sounds. It was sooooo soft and seemed well-made. He got that and loves it! he also got a two-book set that was about $20 and a chocolate frog. He had a great birthday!
