My Gateway fried (and was covered under some warrenty that I didn't even know I had ..LOL)
anyway I was told I could pick out a new laptop up to the amount I had spent... well they didnt' have another Gateway that "fit" so I have a
HP not sure yet how I feel about it:scratchin

so anyone have HP?? Like it?? Hate it???

I had a few problems with my HP, including it not charging. They finally fixed that after the second time I sent it in. The model I have has visible screws on the hinges. We had one screw that kept coming out and I'd put it back in. Finally it came out and wouldn't go back in, so I sent it in(same time as the fist charge issue) They replaced it. Then less than two months later, it happened again and when it did, the bevel popped up and the backlight went out. Sent it in and they fixed it again. Now it is out of warranty, so I hope it doesn't happen again!

One good thing is that they do stand behind their warranty. They send you a fedex label and it takes about a week from when you leave it with fedex until it is back at your house. Just make sure you have everything backed up, because whether it needs it or not, they will most likely wipe your hard drive.:sad2: Sucks when you had no power to back things up.

I have a HP pavillion dv6000 with 2gb and Vista, that I bought 2 years ago. Its been dropped twice. So far no issues with anything. I would buy another one.

I have used many and own 2 now. They have been great, and HP service is great!

Mine has been ok. Some problems but they were fixed properly.

You can get good and bad products with almost any brand.

I've loved HP for years and would have, until very recently, suggested anyone only purchase HP laptops/PCs/servers.

I recently purchased 3 HP laptops for company use. On the first day of use, one had a display go out. On the second day, a second one lost it's display. Now, about 6 weeks later, the third's hard drive went kaput.

So I'm going to buy Dell now :sad2:

I have a hp pavilion. I love it. Its got the built in webcam and a remote for watching dvds. It runs fast and Ive had it almost 6 months. only problem I have, Volume controll needs work, its just hard to get to go.

We have both Dell and HP laptops; I definitely would recommend the Dell over the HP. The HP have simply had way too many problems.
