HP expansion description details (i don't know if this has already been posted)

It's smart - Harry Potter is the golden goose right now and has been very good for Universal - of course they're going to go where the money is. I am shocked that Jaws will be gone though - that's such an iconic ride and movie that I can't believe they're taking it away.

I'm gutted it's gone too. I'm glad my older two got to ride it the last time they went but I know they were looking forward to going on it again

I was going to say the same thing. I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan and you're right, it makes perfect sense to have the two lands in the two parks, as this is how it is in the books/films.

I agree it makes sense...but I just really hate walking! And you know that Hogwarts Express will be packed so that train's just out of the question...

Lol! I'm hoping they know this and make sure there's enough room for hundreds of people at a time?? Otherwise it'll be pointless!

I always do both parks anyway and as much as I'd love to go on the Hogwarts Express I'd just do them both when I go to each park if it's too busy.

we really hate all things universal, but we went this year just to see HP (DS and DDIL are HP fans).
There were 6 of us, but other than the two, the rest of us would have been fine skipping the whole thing..

but HP was nicely themed. The first time universal has ever done complete disney style theming. So it was interesting to see (though i think they made plenty of mistakes - e.g. the wand shop show, etc).

anyway, we only did IoA this year, since we were already there for HP..
we didn't bother with the other park..

we thought that would be it....we'd never have to visit universal/IoA ever again..
seeing HP once was enough (more than enough really)...

but if they build the new HP area in US, we'll visit that one too....
(if you build it they will come)..

and the only reason i'll head over to universal will be to see the new HP addition and to ride the train between the two..

and that will be it....i'll never have to set foot in universal/IoA ever again...

i went back to read the newer comments on the thread at theme park review and found one with which i especially agree.

I love it when people post "inside information" from their "credible sources" about how the above area is going into the Lost Continent. News flash, kids... I have it from my credible sources that survey markers are running down that backstage road between Jaws and Sindbad. But wait, you don't have to believe that, because who the hell knows who MY credible sources are?!
This post was incredible, Robert. Regardless of what anyone may say, the Wizarding World has brought a lovely respite of prosperity to a once fledgling Universal. As much as everyone wants to complain about how they feel it can't be done, or how terrible it is going to be, look back in time to the really bad whiplash everyone gave Universal when they announced the Wizarding World. Knowing the standards that Universal previously held themselves to, we all didn't believe it could be done. Yet, we walked in hoping that someone at Creative would make us, the consumer, proud. And there it was. The most amazing thing we had ever seen created by Universal. Something that we said was "Disney caliber."

Here they are, about to do it again, and here you naysayers are again, trying to tear it down. Believe me, they will do it again, it will be amazing, and all you crybabies who want to bash them for creating something truly wonderful don't have to come! I'm sure that Universal will survive and flourish without your 80-120 bucks per ticket you would have spent, because everyone else in the world will be here. There you go, they have let you off the hook.

Get over it. While Disney recoups and figures out a massive rebuttal with Avatar (one can only hope....), Universal is taking the opportunity to flourish and grow with the beauty that will be London.

And while we are on the subject, I say that instead of boo hooing about Jaws, we should remember that bad old shark for the fond memories he has given, and the Skippers who toiled out in the hot sun, the rain, and the freezing cold all to give a spectacular show for 21 years. It would not have been without them. And if you really are hurting for some Jaws action... Well... There's always YouTube.
