Hows the yak and yeti restaurant?

The kids menu was very disappointing as well. It was very cold in there. We were joking that they must want to move people quickly by making them so cold they can't wait to get back out in the heat.

I think all dining at WDW is overpriced and mediocre.

That said, our family does enjoy Y&Y. Have ate there several times, and we have reservations there for Thanksgiving. We always book the latest reservation time we can because it's fun to come out of the restaurant to an empty park and mosey back to entrance. Besides, AK is so beautiful at night.

Yak & Yeti is fantastic! We never go to Animal Kingdom without eating there. Great food, theme, and service!

Will this be your first thanks going trip? We always go in September but I was thinking about a quick trip over thanksgiving this year.
How are the crowds?

DH and I had dinner there last Sunday, the 15th. Loved it! We both had the steak and shrimp and fried wontons for dessert, very good. Loved the peaceful atmosphere and the view out the windows and we will definitely be returning.

We went in 2012 and it was a mixed bag. I really enjoyed all of my food: (wok-fried green beans, salmon and the sorbet trio) but DH was less impressed with his (he had a tofu curry or stir fry I believe)

Our server was the worst of our trip (we were on the deluxe plan for a fortnight so had a lot of servers.) He was very uninterested, basically looking around the room while giving his rehearsed speech and pushed extras that weren't included in the plan

My DD has a tree nut allergy so the chef came out with the server to discuss menu options for her, as had been the case at pretty much every other restaurant we went to. We don't eat meat (do eat fish) and I believe there was only one child's menu option that was veggie / fish but came with noodles or rice which she didn't like. We asked if she could have A PLATE OF FRIES instead of the menu options and the chef shuffled uncomfortably and reluctantly (but almost rudely) said she could. The children at the next table were at that moment, tucking into plates of fries btw

The attitude of the chef and server made us uncomfortable. Having said that, for me the food was good enough that Y&Y is on the list for our return trip next year (my DH is less keen.) If we were allocated the same server, I would ask for someone else. And luckily my DD is now a bit more adventurous with her food and will eat rice and noodles so there should be no awkward repeat of the French fry incident

Glad to know it is a cs too. I missed that. Lol

Yak & Yeti has both a CS and a TS. The CS does not have a full menu like the TS restaurant.

DH & I enjoyed our 1 lunch at Yak & Yeti. It was our back-up choice in case it was too cold to enjoy our favorite CS in AK which is Flame Tree BBQ. We were so glad we had the back up plan because the high temperature that day was only around 40 degrees! Now have a dinner ADR for a return visit in Feb.

We eat at TS Yak and Yeti often when we are at AK since AK does lack much choices. It's not the best but it's decent meal and we do enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant. We like their appetizer such as fried green beans, and pork egg rolls and they have pretty good Steak and Shrimp combo dish, Malaysian Seafood Curry, and Honey Chicken. We also like the fried wonton and trio sorbet on their dessert selection. And as for price, it's on par with other Disney restaurants. However, just like most Disney restaurants, their portion size is big and so it's easy to share to have room for appetizer and dessert.

We always thought the restaurant is freezing even during crazy hot summer months. It's really a nice break from the business of the park and we recharge during our meal and go enjoy the park for a few more hours.

We really enjoy it, once inside you are out of the hustle and bustle of the park, even in August. The food is good, and we make it a point to go there each visit.
