How's the weather out there? Still wet?

On the news tonight they continued to show mudslides and huge messes caused by all the rain California has had lately. The state expert guy said it would take 2-3 months to get things back to normal.

We are supposed to be out there in 3 weeks. Should we postpone the trip?

What are you seeing in the DL area? Are a lot of roads still closed?

TIA! :)

Wow, really? 2-3 months. Love those experts.

Yes it is rainy and cold (for us) right now. As far as I know there are no road closures in the area around DLR. Most closures are near foothills and since the only mountains near DLR are Space, Matterhorn, Big Thunder, and Splash, everything around there is fine.

But seriously, Unless it keeps raining for the next 3 weeks your trip will be fine. It definitely won't take 2-3 months for us to dry out in the cities.

Don't cancel. :goodvibes

The problem that So Cal faces annually is that we don't get much rain. So everything is really dry. Then, when it DOES rain, the ground just can't take in the quantity of water we get and in certain areas (like Malibu) mudslides and such occur. The rains we have had recently have been REALLY heavy and causing some issues.

Now, as for Disneyland... The is NO reason to cancel your trip if this is your concern. If you don't like going out in the rain and don't want to "deal" with being away from home and being a tourist in rainy weather, then I would say maybe. However, if you are asking because of mudslides and such, nah, not for a trip to DLR.

We live in Santa Clarita, CA (near Magic Mountain...and pretty much in the mountains) and we are already pretty dry considering the amount of rain we got.

Now I have to say. I am kind of afraid to see what has happened down at UC Irvine and the surrounding areas with all of the rain when I go back on sunday. I have heard that Laguna is pretty bad.

As for your trip...2-3 months???? That "expert" is crazy. Its cold, and windy and occasionally wet but it wont take 2-3 months to dry out.

I live in San Diego and the weather is gorgeous right now. It's a balmy 42 and sunny in the early morning with temps rising to the mid 50s for today. IME you will be fine. But then again I am from Seattle so a little wetness doesn't phase me.

I think you will have a blast.

Gorgeous here in Corona as well. Beautiful, clear, sunny, and cold. What we call a "Chamber of Commerce" day.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for all of your replies. :flower3:

We are currently in the middle of a blizzard, so the days you are describing sound wonderful! :goodvibes Thank goodness the kids are on break and we have the day off for New Year's so we don't have to go out in it today!

Here's to more of those "Chamber of Commerce" California Days in the next month! :thumbsup2
