How's the skillet at Whispering Canyon?

We ate at WCC for the first time in 2007 and we all had the skillet, it was really good. The skillet had peel and eat shrimp then, I guess maybe they have taken those off maybe someone can verify. We really enjoyed it though. The also have good milkshakes there.

We had it there last August, and let me tell you delicious:) We were too full and so they gave us our desserts to go:) Great midnight snack :) I will be going back in August...

My mother and I both got the skillet dinner on our most recent trip in January to WCC. The food was delicious (although neither of us eat baked beans)! I was left to eat the corn and the chicken, which were VERY tasty. The beef was also quite good. My mother swears by the ribs and the pulled pork, I had some as well (wasn't supposed to; I don't eat pork as it's against my beliefs; but hey while in Disney, the real world goes away!), and they were also very good! Although we could have gotten more, we didn't, that's how filling the meal was! LOL! We had an AWESOME server as well! Her name was Bree; she was definitely very outgoing, and made our first meal of the trip something to remember! Here's a pic of the skillet before we devoured it! Oh, and the BBQ sauce is not ON the meats; it is served with the skillet in a separate container!

Hi. I'd recommend going early in your trip, before you're tired of eating :lmao: We went on our last night and were just too full to really enjoy it. I think we are a little more critical of it because of when we went.

We did think it was greasy, and the grease runs into all the food, even the potatoes. I'd recommend NOT getting the milkshake, as it's VERY heavy - they put whipped cream on it, which makes it really twice as heavy, and it really fills you up and makes it uncomfortable.

I thought everything tasted fine, not spectacular. Basically it's a Bbq buffet that's brought to your table instead.

Our son got the kid's skillet and really didn't like it - he barely ate any of it. I should have gotten him kid's chicken fingers and he would have been happier.

We ate there last Spring. It's great, but it's almost too much food. We were on the dining plan, and by the time we ate the skillet & everything that comes with it PLUS dessert, we were stuffed. Miserably stuffed. I see us going back in the future, but preferably when we haven't eaten...at all...for 2 or 3 days. :rotfl2:

Had the skillet in December. I thought the chicken was FANTASTIC. DH and I LOVE the seasoning and it's texture, we found it to be very moist and tender (to each his own!). In fact, I asked for the recipe before we left. The mashed potatoes were very good and the corn was delicious. The only thing I could have done without were the ribs; they weren't bad, but not the best either.

From the pics I have seen, the food looks tasty. So, if both my husband and I order the skillet (and we are on the dining plan), do they bring out one skillet or two? The pics look like there's enough food for two!

And, does anyone know if they'll allow my 12 year old son to order the burger that's on their lunch menu during the dinner hours?

Thanks

Hate to quote myself but still wondering if anyone's had any luck ordering the burger at dinner.

We love WCC, we always go on our first night as a "Welcome to Disney", it gets us in the spirit. We love the skillet and milkshakes. The shrimp has been replaced with a brisket. Very tasty! We are always too full for dessert so we take it to go and have it for breakfast the next morning (only in Disney!)

Also, while we have not ordered a burger there, my grandpa is very picky and has been able to get burgers all over Disney at many palces where they are not even on the menu. I am pretty sure you'd be able to order the burger.
